Disc golf where to play

Some people like variety in the disc golf courses they play; some like to play the same course all the time. Unfortunately not everyone has a choice. There may be only one or two courses available to you. For those who have more choices, or if you are going to be traveling, there are a few good places to find where to play disc golf.

The best place to find a course to play is DG course review. If you are going on a trip, or you are looking for a course near where you live, go to the bottom of the page, select the state or zip code and go through the list, and look for a course near where you are traveling or where you live to find where to play. Select the course and look at all the course information. Read the reviews to really find out about the course from people who play it. Another good place to find course listings is the PDGA website

In the Twin Cities we are very lucky because we have many choices of where to play. They are spread out all around the metro area. Some of them are beginner courses; several of them are championship courses as good as anywhere else. If you are just starting out, play the easier courses until you feel comfortable on them, then go to the harder ones. Another good place to check out courses in Minnesota and a few other states is Play DG.

The top courses in the Twin Cities

Blue Ribbon Pines East Bethel 27 holes
Becker City Park Becker 18 holes
Bryant Lake Eden Prairie 18 holes
Highland Ski Area Bloomington 18 holes
Kaposia St. Paul 18 holes
Acorn Park Roseville 18 holes
Elm Creek Park Maple Grove 18 holes
Lakewood Hills White Bear 14 holes
Oakwood Park Cottage Grove 18 holes
Plymouth Creek Plymouth 12 holes

There are 23 9-hole courses spread around the Twin Cities, some are good courses, but to be one of the top courses, they need to be more than a 9-hole course. If you are not in the metro area, there are 117 other courses spread throughout the rest of Minnesota, so pick some courses and go have fun and check out Disc golf news for everything disc golf updated daily.

I found out about, and started playing disc golf in 1978 when the sport was in its infancy. There was only 1 good course in Minnesota at that time...
