Monday, Monday – what a food day

Monday started off pretty good, three appointments and dinner with the culinary sorority gals that evening.

Meeting one:  Panera Bread – Pikesville – Help coordinate a cooking/food contest for a local restaurant – you will learn more later. So far, so good

Meeting two:  Meet with a special food and wine show promoter down near Clipper Mill to discuss creating programming for his shows this year – things are on target.  Offered oysters leftover from his weekend show.  Five hundred oysters loaded in my trunk and I’m off to see friends in the restaurant business in the heart of downtown where I unload 300 oysters.

Meeting three: Helping friend at Red Pearl Restaurant in Columbia set up their Facebook business page. I’m a tad early so I had dim sum and spicy beef soup.  As I’m sitting at the bar eating, Top Chef alumni Timothy Dean comes in and sits down for dim sum. We enjoyed talking Top Chef, his next project in Arlington and recent couponing in Groupon and Living Social.

Off to Owings Mills to drop off oysters for the culinary sorority dinner and finally home with still 100 oysters left for me. The goal is to take them to DC to my kitchen slave job so we could make something with them.

Once home, I got cleaned up and went out to dinner with the gals from the old culinary sorority.  Weren’t they surprised when oysters on the half shell were placed before them?

And then the snow, which left me in Baltimore today – I didn’t drive to DC in the mess neither myself or the 100 oysters.  I roasted some oysters and smashed others (I’m unable to shuck) and put half back in the fridge.
