Capital Grille introduces their winter 3 plate lunch special for $18

The Capital Grille kicked off their winter version of their 3 plate luncheon specials today.  Having enjoyed the summer version, I said yes very quickly when they invited me to preview their winter version.

For the office worker who wants to eat well but can’t linger this is ideal.Indulge yourself, go and enjoy a wonderful lunch rather than blowing $10 on the routine lunches you eat every day.  You can’t go wrong at Capital Grille for quality, service and comfort.  They are participating in Winter Restaurant Week but for $3 more you can get the winter 3 plate special and well worth the upgrade. Oh, let’s not forget the bread basket…with the sweet dairy butter and wafer thin crisp cracker. Check out the slideshow.

Here’s the deal:

Order one soup or the salad, one entrée and one side for $18:

Soup/Salad

New England Clam Chowder – rich, accompanied with oyster crackers – the husband’s choice

*Roasted Red Pepper Soup – The base is chicken stock that is melded with pureed red peppers with burst of roasted poblano for a touch of smokiness. The final touch for texture was a sweet potato hash. – my choice

Field Greens

Sandwiches

Mini Tenderloin Sandwiches - on brioche rolls with Boursin cheese and sautéed wild  mushrooms – the tenderloin cooked to your temperature – an umami rich offering.

Lobster Roll - The lobster pieces were large, kissed with citrus and tarragon. It far out shined the lobster roll I had recently had in Boston.

*Wagyu Cheeseburger with Fried Egg and Crisp Onions – this was the husband’s choice, very flavorful and moist. I ate the remaining couple of bites and think I enjoyed it as much as the lobster roll or possibly more.

Sides

Truffle Fries – redolent of truffle, topped with Grana Padano cheese and parsley. No salt needed with the Grana Padano.

Fresh Green Beans – The French kind, haricot verts sautéed with tiny tomatoes, onions and sure tasted like butter to me.

*Roasted Root Vegetables

* New winter items for Capitol Grille’s 3 plate lunches - $18 per person.
