Sharron Angle (R-NV)
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has a new ad out today that highlights another crazy statement from Sharron Angle (R-NV) on jobs.
For months both the Republican Party and now Sharron Angle have attacked Senator Reid on the number of jobs he has created, in fact both have gone as far as saying no jobs were created, yet here we see Sharron Angle on two separate occasions saying that its “not my job as a US Senator” to create jobs.
In the new ad which can be seen below or here on YouTube, you will see Sharron Angle in her own words saying: “People ask me, what are you going to do to develop jobs in your State”? Angles reply to her question, “well that’s not my job as a US Senator”. The ad also highlights another quote from Angle saying, “I am NOT in the business of creating jobs”.
Sharron Angle needs to know that it is a Senators job to help create jobs in his or her State as well as the entire country.
Because of Senator Reid’s work for the State of Nevada he created 10,000 construction jobs at the City Center and another 12,000 people are now employed at the finished project. Those 22,000 jobs are a direct result of a US Senator.
Senator Reid has brought money to our State to spur new industry which will create new jobs such as the new solar and wind projects that have been in the news. Senator Reid has brought money to our State for numerous construction jobs on our highways and byways. Senator Reid has secured new funding for a new VA hospital. Senator Reid has done a great job for our State while having to work with 99 other Senators who also want to create jobs for their own States.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 has created or saved millions of jobs, tens of thousands of those jobs are right here in Nevada.
Sharron Angle criticizes Senator Reid for not creating jobs (which is lie), then says its not the job of a US Senator to create jobs.
Sharron Angle recently said in an interview with Jon Ralston (her first interview with someone who is not from the right wing media) that there are plenty of entry level jobs for the unemployed if they really wanted a job (she thinks that everyone that is collecting unemployment really don‘t want jobs), which must be the reason why she thinks she doesn’t have to create any jobs as a US Senator, because the jobs are already available to the unemployed.

It is NOT the responsibility of gov't to create jobs, but to make conditions more favorable (less taxes!) for PRIVATE businesses to hire more employees, at decent wages. I'm sick and tired of everywhere I look, I see this project or that funded with my tax dollars, on all kinds of things that most do not benefit from, with a very low ROI!. For example, there's all kinds of fancy new buses in this town, funded by the government as some special project or another, but very few people ride the bus because the routes don't make any sense! Just one example. And I can't get help with my mortgage re-financing, or educating my kid because I make too much money, according to the gov't standards for applying for these programs. It's getting to the point that you're better off doing as little as possible and sucking off the gov't teat, that's the way to get ahead. And when you do, it'll be YOUR turn to see your earnings being eaten up by increased taxes!!!
Tax cuts do not create jobs.
those bush tax cuts are really doing a lot to help the economy, aren't they?
My uncle and his family own a small business; a local bakery. He says yeah, all businesses will tell the government they want tax cuts, but it will not make them hire. What will cause a business to hire is when they have demand. A demand great enough that the current staff cannot handle the business. Also, when you are starting to lose business because your current staff is causing business to walk out, THEN you hire. If the demand is not walking in the front door, the tax break will just go to the bottom line.
