Everyday, very pregnant Mexican and Central American women make their way across the U.S. border to give birth in an American hospital. These children are the famous, so-called "Anchor Babies," so prized by their foreign parents.

Once the child is born on American soil, he or she instantly attains U.S. citizenship. Not only are the parents allowed to stay but since they have no income, the baby is eligible for welfare, WIC, Food Stamps, etc.--all at the expense of the great American taxpayer. There are 350,000 of these Anchor Babies born in the U.S. every year. It is estimated that they consume $118 billion annually in government services.

Over-crowded schools filled with Spanish-only speaking students, closed hospitals, local police, fire, and paramedic services stretched to the breaking point, shrinking wages for Americans, disease, and violent crime are all by-products of the Mexican invasion.

The Anchor Baby phenomenon is simply an abuse of our 14th Amendment which was designed to ensure that black Americans still recovering from slavery, were given the same rights as every other American...The lawmakers who originally passed the measure could never have envisioned a time when it would assist invaders. Nor could those same lawmakers have ever envisioned a time when the U.S. Senate would encourage and assist said invaders.

The Fourteenth Amendment was passed by Congress in 1866 and ratified by three-fourths of the states in 1868.

The portion which is now being exploited by illegal aliens reads as follows:

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

The human tidal wave washing over the U.S.-Mexican border will dramatically lower our standard of living, and has already contributed to this country‘s stagnant wages. Perhaps, that is the goal of our globalist president...To bring us down to same level as those living in the Third World. After all, the poor, sick, and ignorant are much easier to control than are the wealthy, healthy, and wise.

If we are to once again become a nation of laws, we must end the practice of ‘birthright citizenship’ for the children of those who enter this nation illegally.

    Not going to happen. If it ever did by then the forces favoring the mis application of the 14th admendment will have judicial majorities so it will remain in effect as it is. 2 billion more will come, make room for them.
    In other words, it's all over except the fat senorita singing. Those that don't like it should make arrangements to leave.
    Modern Rome, it will fail from internal rot. The citizenry are too appathetic to resist, complacency is our destiny.

    Another good column from Dave.

    I would add that the human tidal wave from Mexico already has lowered our standard of living. Look at the public school system in Los Angeles for example -- once one of the best, now a gang-ridden basket case that has caused many citizen families to flee from L.A.

    And let's remember that our fight is not only against illegal immigration, but also against the radical increase in LEGAL immigration that has resulted over the past couple of decades -- well over the historical norm.

    It's thus time to end the "anchor baby" or "jackpot baby" abuse and also dramatically decrease legal immigration. Middle class taxpayers simply cannot afford to take care of thr world's poor.

Let's look at the ethnicities of the perpetrators of some of the most violent crimes in the U.S.; Virginia Tech shooting-Asian, Columbine High shooting-white, 9/11-Iraqi, Charles Manson-white, KKK-white, Neo-nazis-white, Oklahoma City bombing-white, Amish school shooting in P.A.-white. It is unfair and just plain prejudice to blame an entire race for a laundry list of issues in our country. The U.S. has a lot of problems to work out, for sure, but blaming the Mexicans is not the solution.

    Mr Gibson- Thanks for another excellent article, thanks to others for comments. The Admin has just signed to send 34000 more troops to mideast but the border is open, WHY? Yes, they are catching some jihadis in the desert, as well as GangMembers. The Caucasians who came to the West Hemi were seeking freedom from tyranny and had the fortitude to settle in wilderness. Natives who attacked were slaughtered. Eventually a nation was founded and Fought for by White Men. The Banksters subverted the Law (1965)to cause non-white influx. The peoples of color think that they will "takeover" 1st world country and be "rich" but they only bring it down to their natural level (Witness L.A.). As Americans begin to understand the mentality of these illegals, they are less and less accomodating. Just because it's legal certainly doesn't make it right.     Excellent article! The www.14thAmendment.US website is a great resource on this issue. It contains information on the historical intent of the amendment - which most definitely was not intended to include anchor babies. Indeed, it originally did not even address American Indians.

    According to a Pew Hispanic Center study, non-citizen Hispanics accounted for 29 percent of all federally sentenced offenders in 2007. This figure includes those sentenced for immigration offenses, of which 74 percent were non-citizen Hispanics. Information in the study also indicates that 25 percent of those sentenced for drug crimes were non-citizen Hispanics. In comparison, Hispanic non-citizens comprised only 5.1 percent of the nation’s total adult population in 2007.

    The "study" purporting to to find that illegal immigrants are sentenced for 22% of all felonies in Maricopa County is bogus.

    Page 5, paragraph 2 states that Maricopa County Attorney Office (MCA)O staff enters for each defendant whether the defendant is an illegal immigrant, not an illegal immigrant or unknown.

    The following paragraph (page 5, paragraph 3) states that 23% of defendants sentenced had a citizenship status of "unknown". The same paragraph then states that a "random sample" of the those whose citizenship was "unknown" was taken and estimated to be 13.1%--though this is irrelevant.

    Then, looking at the chart on page 6, we see that felons sentenced whose citizenship is unknown are omitted from the calculations, as the chart CLEARLY states at the bottom!

    THIS IS A FRAUD!

    If I have 100 marbles. They come in 2 colors; red and blue. We know that we have 35 red marbles. We know that we have 40 blue marbles. Of the remaining 25 marbles, we don't know what color they are.

    WHAT PERCENTAGE OF THE 100 MARBLES ARE RED?

    By analogy; He just divides 35 red marbles by the 75 marbles whose color is known, arriving at his conclusion that 18.7% of sentenced felons are undocumented immigrants--he did NOT use sampling in the 18.7% calculation!

    He simply omits the 25 of unknown color! See the chart on page 6.

    Then, he says that a "random sample" of the UNKNOWN category was taken and that "analysis" found 13.1% of them to be undocumented immigrants. He then adds this percentage from the UNKNOWN category to the known sentenced felons and ostensibly recalculates the percentage of sentenced felons in Maricopa County, who are undocumented immigrants, to be 23%.

This is one of the strongest arguments that immigrants do not have high crime rates.     Actually if one read all of the 14th Amendment children born to illegal alien mothers and visitors to the US are not US citizens when born here. The 14th states

    All persons born or naturalized in the
    United States and subject to the jurisdiction
    thereof, are citizens of the United States and
    the State wherein they reside. ...

    The key phrase in this issue is "subject to the jurisdiction thereof". Change "jurisdiction" to "King" or "Queen" and the meaning becomes clearer due to historical practice. To become a subject in relations to the 14th requires one to be given birth by subject (i.e. citizen) or someone who has petitioned the "King" to enter and reside in the country. Visitors and illegal aliens are not subjects and their children are not citizens. For instance a visitor or illegal alien can not be drafted - a subject can be drafted.

    The children are citizens of the country of the mother not US citizens.

    The answer is simple. Most states have passed tougher sentencing laws (3-strikes, etc.) over the past 20 years. The longer we keep violent criminals behind bars, the fewer crimes they will commit.

Among the crimes that illegal aliens have committed simply by working here are ID theft, document fraud, Social Security fraud, employment "I-9 Form" fraud, income tax evasion, and conspiracy to violate immigration laws.

    In order for something to be illegal, it has to be in violation of a law. Consent simply means to give permission. For example, the daughter didn't have her mother's consent to go to the mall, but the daughter didn't violate any law by going to the mall. Since the Native Americans didn't have any immigration laws in place at the time that Europeans began arriving on this continent, those Europeans were NOT illegal aliens.

    I see that Human Being, La Raza's Minister of Propaganda, has stopped by to copy and paste the same deceptive and out-of-context "facts" and "statistics" that he/she has posted on many other forums and message boards. Human Being has been given the difficult job of trying to convince Americans that having 15-20 million (or more) illegal alien lawbreakers in the United States is good for this country.

    Human Being says:
    "The 14th amendment of the US Constitution means what it says -- not what you want it mean despite what it says."

    Senator Jacob Howard, the author of the citizenship clause in the 14th Amendment, said this in regard to the true meaning of the citizenship clause:

    "This amendment which I have offered is simply declaratory of what I regard as the law of the land already, that every person born within the limits of the United States, and subject to their jurisdiction, is by virtue of natural law and national law a citizen of the United States. This will NOT, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons."

    For many years many South Korean mothers-to-be have been flying here when ready to deliver their babies. They gather up the paper work that prove the babies' U.S. birth, then fly back to South Korea and apply for passports at the U.S. Embassy. In many cases the children never learn to speak English, yet they're American citizens. Does anyone believe that this was envisioned and approved by those who wrote and passed the 14th Amendment?

    In the 1884 U.S. Supreme Court case, Elk v. Wilkins, the phrase "subject to its jurisdiction" was interpreted to exclude "children of ministers, consuls, and citizens of foreign states born within the United States." In Elk v. Wilkins, the American Indian claimant was considered not an American citizen because the law required him to be "not merely subject in some respect or degree to the jurisdiction of the United States, but completely subject to their political jurisdiction and owing them direct and immediate allegiance."

    Even though John Elk was born a member of an Indian tribe on American soil, Elk could not meet the allegiance test of the jurisdictional phrase because he "owed immediate allegiance to" his tribe, a quasi-nation, and not to the United States. Because of this, the Court held that John Elk was not "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States at birth, and therefore was not a U.S. citizen at birth.

    Regarding the 14th Amendment, the real issue is whether it legal in the first place. If you do your research, you will find that the 14th Amendment never was legal. Corruption in the government after the Civil War was as big then as it is now.
