After heating up the kitchen with two stand mixers and two ovens that resulted in two cakes and 24 cupcakes, we needed a simpler dessert to add to the graduation party menu. Enter the trifle. This one has multiple layers of brownies, chocolate pudding, and whipped topping. It's easy to assemble and sure to please a crowd.
Ingredients
1 (19.8 oz) package brownie mix
1 (3.9 oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1/2 cup water
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (12 oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (1.5 oz) bar chocolate candy
Directions
Prepare brownies according to package directions and cool completely. Cut into 1-inch squares.
In a large bowl combine pudding mix, water, and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until smooth, then fold in 8 ounces of whipped topping.
In a trifle bowl, place half of the brownies, half of the pudding mixture, and half of the 12 ounce container of whipped topping. Repeat layers. Shave chocolate on top layer for garnish. Refrigerate 8 hours before serving.
