Games today give players an increasing amount of control over their play-time. Whether it be through sandbox titles allowing gamers to randomly create their own adventures or the growing list of RPGs that allow players to create and mold their characters exactly how they want, gamers presently have an unprecedented amount of control over their in-game experience.
Current franchises, like Mass Effect and Fable, that put gamers into the role of a specific hero (as opposed to allowing them to create one from scratch) are now allowing players to pick the sex of their lead character.
What would happen if other developers brought this gender change idea into their titles, allowing gamers to pick the sex of famous preset characters? Here's a look at what some of gamings most well known characters would appear if their gender was changeable too.

Wouldn't Chief and Samus not look any different? I mean, if I were to switch their gender, I'd just put up a picture of Samus, and call it Master Chief, then put up a picture of Chief, and call it Samus.

See, some characters can't have their gender flipped; Samus, because her gender made a MAJOR case for badass heroines in video games, Lara Croft, because the whole point is to have a hot girl running around, and Kratos, because he's supposed to be exaggeratedly strong. With Link, hell, half the people who don't know him already think he's a girl, Sephiroth could probably be a girl since he already looks like one and his character is so neutrally evil (not seductive, not brawny, just straight-up), and if you read the books Master Chief is just one of many Spartans who wear the same suits, so it's understandable. But for the love of games, don't just gender flip for the hell of it.

Thanks for making somem female video game heros... Now maybe you can make them look like actual people and remove the basketballs they have on their chests instead of breasts? Not having female characters in video games is demeaning, but so is making their appearance totally superficial.

Artist: Why is it that a genderswapped male doesn't count unless he ends up with a DD cup bra? Actually the issue I have is that they DON'T have bras and ALL of these characters are fighters. But oh, the jiggling is awesome, and wouldn't cause them pain and distraction during battle, no way.
Also the Halo one is just nonsense since they HAVE a female Spartan and her armor looks like the guy armor. Even if the female armor did have shaped breasts the fact that your version has no plating on her stomach is complete nonsense. You might as well paint a target on her belly and have done with it since she'd be dead within seconds of engaging the enemy.
Since guys like you are always going to insist on the basketball boobs, let's just come to a compromise. If you give a female character DD breasts, fine, but also give her the proper support to move and fight in them. We have bras for a reason. Not wearing one when you're jumping around hurts a whole damn lot.
Ignore the insulting idiots and please post MORE.

i mean, that halo one. if that was meant as a sort of satirical jab at how incredibly overly sexualised male-->female gender swaps inevitably are, i'd enjoy it. but no. no no no.

If these were actually presented as options in their respective games, the only two I'd consider playing as would be Kratos and Lara Croft, and even those have some big problems. Really, all of these designs have the same problem: ridiculous physiques. Why do they have giant boobs? Why does Ezio have fat thighs? She's a free runner for goodness' sake! Why is Samus's head so tiny?
The costumes are okay for the most part, but the Master Chief, Sephiroth and Link are just awful. I wonder why you changed the costumes at all, considering all three of them already have costumes that could work for a female character!
Oh, and doesn't Sephiroth kinda go outside of your premise? Or would she just switch along with the player's choice for Cloud?

Nice stuff like the link and eizo and luigi ones the best and i think you drew them all equally fair. People may moan about the female characters having big boobs, but they moan about that so i say who does a male character always have to muscled and 8 packed etc. Have they seen real life? I dont believe every man is like that. Games are fantasy thats what the artist has done, made them your fantasy :P
Some of us like a little realism in our fantasy. Just saying.
there's no room for individual taste when the masses demand muscled guys and girls with DD. They wanna sell, and that's the best way.
People play games to have a break from reality ;)
