The soon-to-be-released comedy flick American Carol boasts lots of big name stars, from Kelsey Grammer and Dennis Hopper, to James Woods and Jon Voight.
But one celebrity's appearance won't be billed in the movie's credits...
According to the National Ledger:
"Paris Hilton isn't billed in David Zucker's American Carol, the conservative-tilting comedy that opens Friday (10/3) -- but the heiress is in the flick that's already gained controversy, and a swell of talk radio chatter, for its skewering of the left in general and Michael Moore in particular. Whether she's glad to be in it might be another story..."
Over at Newsweek, American Carol director David Zucker talks about the movie, which promises to mercilessly mock lying leftist "documentarian" Michael Moore and his loony followers.
Zucker tells Newsweek why his politics turned from liberal to conservative. He mentions 9/11, but in other interviews, he's mentioned the influence of talk radio host Dennis Prager, who I praised in a previous Examiner.com article.
Here's what one liberal blogger wrote about American Carol:
"An American Carol is a movie that's coming out October 3rd and one that I expect to be extremely offended by. The trailer alone has gotten me p***ed beyond belief, so I don't think I'll actually see the movie in fear that my head will explode."
How can you NOT want to see it now?!
Conservatives: it isn't enough to complain that there aren't enough movies for "people like us."
It also isn't enough to say you'll buy the DVD of American Carol when it comes out months from now.
Let's all go and see American Carol when it opens this weekend.

All Hollywood cares about are opening weekend box office receipts.

I am always astonished at the viciousness of criticism directed toward Paris Hilton. This is a woman who could have cheerfully lived her life in obscurity, enjoying almost unimaginable privilege. Instead, she has made herself a global brand by force of personality alone.
I will concede she is not a particularly gifted singer or actress but then she apparently does not need to be. And unlike so much of Canada's ersatz talent, she makes no claims upon the taxpayer, or even her own family, to support and express herself. I cannot say I surprised to learn of the cameo... she clearly has an eye for publicity and I suspect -- despite some obvious youthful indiscretion -- she is a conservative.
We won't see it in my town. I checked the advanced listings for all the theaters in the area and nada...no show! Another American conservative culture stopped at the maple curtian. It sucks to be Canadian....I can relate to cold war era Easten block consumers...we have the same American culture censoring going on here.

After her grandparents told her to knock it off because she was ruining the family name with her ditzness, she has...somewhat.
And if her name was not Hilton coupled she to the sex video, no one would know her name to this day.
Jim R: That would be the youthful indiscretion to which I referred. And the fact her name is Hilton means she did not have to lift a finger for her entire life should she have chosen not to, as was my point.
Further, she has no need of her grandparents' money. She has earned her own and can do as she pleases.
