Most Americans agree with the Tea Parties

AP Photo/Jeff Curry

Contrary to everything we're being told by the news media, the numbers show that the Tea Parties represent the vast majority of Americans, who are rightly furious with what Nancy Pelosi insisted would be "the most honest, open, ethical Congress in history."

There is a reason Democrats had to spend a full year brow-beating and bribing their own super-majority into voting for ObamaCare.

Let's review:

  • For those who somehow weren't tipped off by what happened in Virginia, New Jersey, Massachusetts, the town halls and virtually every poll for the last year, the overwhelming majority of Americans oppose Obama's Constitution-trampling war on free market health care.
  • Most Americans agree with the Tea Parties on limited government and on virtually every economic issue, whether it be deficit spending, unemployment, the bailouts, taxes...everything (see here). Most Americans also agree with conservatives on national defense, abortion, gun rights...you name it.
  • Even ultra-liberal states like California voted overwhelmingly against gay marriage and illegal immigration

We are a right-of-center country. The extremists here are the ultra-partisan leftist radicals in Washington shredding our Constitution, trampling our rights and systematically annihilating the free market.

Good one, Robert! Using a poll that doesn't even mention the Tea Party to imply that because Americans are disappointed with where things are right now they must agree with you! Wow, that's a stretch, even for you.

Just go ahead and ignore this one:

"Who do you trust to do a better job of handling the economy: the Democrats or the Republicans?"

    Democrats = 47%
    Republicans = 40%

I guess that means that the vast majority of Americans must think that Tea Party folks are Democrats?!

    Ha! Another stellar post.

Yeah, how silly of me to point out that Americans agree with Tea Parties on virtually issue without only using polls that spell out the Tea Party by name.

Tom: "Just go ahead and ignore this one..."

Lovely un-sourced outlyer poll. Most poll results right now show Americans trusting Republicans more on nearly every major national issue, especially the economy.

"Tea Party Patirot!!1" - There's no need for that. Keep it civil.

Robert - Since we're looking at polls this morning, here's another one that "proves" that the Tea Party is not a minority group that is far outside the mainstream of American politics:

"Lovely un-sourced outlyer poll"? Ha! That's from the pollingreport.com poll you linked. Did you even read it before making your off-base claims? Or did you just assume nobody would click the link?

Never underestimate a liberal's ability to lower the IQ of a given topic with their trademark devastating comeback: "You're stupid."

    Tom: "Lovely un-sourced outlyer poll"?

Yes, when you post random statements with no indication of where they came from and zero data, people tend to have no way of knowing what the hell you're talking about.

Now that you've revealed that your claim is based on you cherry-picking one misleading result, I will address it. There are 13% who didn't pick a side, and it is common knowledge that Republicans continue to hemhorrage supporters.

The reason that result doesn't match up with most of the rest of the data (aside from the fact that polls fluxuate) is likely that Republicans have a severe problem with their alienated base.

Most of the results look more like this:

"Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling the economy?"

    Approve 41% Disapprove: 54%

teabaggers are nothing more than a collection of racists, homophobes, and conspiracy nuts! you idiots think that one black president has sold your country to the devil? what about all the previous white devil presidents who have done sooooooo much more harm to this country than good? where were you chicken littles then? why is it that only now you are "concerned" about the state of the country?

oh yeah that's right....its because having a minority at the top position of the nation scares the pi$$ out of you. that's why!

funny even though president obama has been doing absolutely nothing but catering to you freightened ghost face dimwits.....yet still you think he's ruining your lives....pitiful, misguided, neanderthals.

i warn you, you do not want another civil war....so stop pretending you do.

Ok, dude, whatever you have to tell yourself to make it through the day. There was one question in the poll you linked in your own article that most directly addressed the point of your article. The results for that question directly proved your thesis wrong. An approval/disapproval number of the President does not imply support for the Tea Party. Spin it however you want, but you know deep down that you really stretched on this one.

You're Right Robert Moon. I apologize. We should have a productive argument. Now you were saying, that all the N----rs and f----ts need to leave this country or die. Ok. Let's discuss those intelligent points you present.

with all that said, the issue here with these crazy whites are that they feel they are losing control. that's the main driving force behind their hatred and fear. and the rebulicans and faux news are not comforting these people, instead they are throwing napalm on the forest fire.

if you deny this, then you are one of the problems. you have to be bias and blind to not see this in action.

The thesis: Most Americans agree with the Tea Parties on the issues.

The misleading outlyer poll result you cherry-picked (out of dozens of polls...the one with the huge margin of conservative independents not voting for Republicans): A small margin think Democrats best handle the economy.

    Nice logic.

And for YOU to believe THIS, you must also believe that Tea Partiers would be fine if only it were a WHITE GUY quadrupling the national debt in less than a year, trampling our rights and shredding the Constitution.

    Quite stupid.

Why don't you just learn how to debate like a thinking, adult human being and refute their arguments rather than incessantly trying to smear their motives.

If you people HAD a counterpoint, you would not need to constantly resort to such BS fallacies.

Bigot: A conservative winning a debate with a liberal.

Then this should be real easy...just post the crosstabs from a recent poll showing Americans trust Republicans more. Rasmussen doesn't post their publicly, but there must be something out there showing your point if it's really as clear cut as you say. Let's see what you've got...otherwise just fess up to blustering.

"If you're running a news organization and you tend to cite Rasmussen's polls disproportionately, it probably means that you are biased -- it does not necessarily mean that Rasmussen is biased."
