This is the subheading of a blog titled ontheroadtogreeness:
The tale of one person’s life-long journey to becoming a good person living a green lifestyle. It is also the story of the people she has met, the things she has tried, the places she has traveled, and the ideas she has encountered along the way. These are all recounted in the hope of getting others to join her on her quest to save the planet.
This is why I miss the counter-culture of earlier days. Back in the 60's and 70's anyone on the left who went on a journey did so without a car, plenty of booze and smelled awful. They would later write about their travails and become rich then appear drunk on Dick Cavett and become social pariahs. But at least they were true rebels. That's the left I grew up on and I never thought that I would look back and ever miss them.
But thanks to this new bunch I do. Not because they are cleaner and better behaved but because their greenish lifestyle is every bit as important to them as their parents adherents to God and country when they were young hippies. If we don't join little miss ontheroadtogreeness goody-too-shoes then we are, by convention, making Earth a foul place to visit, much less live in.
Imagine if I said in my bio above "the story of a great guy who lives a lifestyle that is probably better than yours and has gotten a lot of good ideas on how to save humanity for ages to come."? Ontheroadtogreeness gal not only says this but she wants us to "join her". I would be embarrassed and feel quite a bit foolish if there was such a lavish description of me. What would make it worse is if I made this bio myself in the second person which Mzzzz. Green chick undoubtedly has.
Say what you will about the left of old, this new crowd fashions themselves as mini planet messiahs and look down on you if you ever so much as use styrofoam or eat a hamburger on their silly "meatless Mondays". The left was far more tolerable on booze and argued over anarchism verses socialism or getting out of Vietnam. What a contrast.

Sillier and sillier. This "critic" obviously knew people on the left who acted exactly as he describes them. Now he knows another group of people on the current left and he describes them. Actually no one knows any such people. They are nonsensical characterizations.
It's too bad this guy has no idea what "green" is all about and as a result is reduced to idiotic rants.
I have no idea who he's criticizing and neither does he, but it does serve to amuse the radical right wingers. It's what passes as knowledge. Heaven help us!
JofT, What makes the Tea Party Racists?
To answer:
If I went to a Democratic rally and carried a racist sign I would be asked to take it down and/or leave. The same is true of Republican, Conservative or Liberal rallies. That doesn't mean there are no racists in any of those parties.
If you go to a Tea Party rally you can have all the racist signs you want. Does that make them all racist? No! But it sure says a lot. Next time Tex Pete goes to one of those rallies, he should stand by one of those signs and wave when the cameras come near.
JofT you never answered the question. With one comment you labeled good decent people all Racists! Do you not see the damage it does and how it puts people on the defensive. Please stop!

After more info on the Bristol Palin Dancing with stars, I now know that right wing radicals couldn't care less about qualifications. The danger they bring is that they would vote for the presidency of the US based on anything but qualifications. Oh, I forgot. Sarah was the mayor of Wazilla and she quit the governorship of Alaska and she could almost see Russia from her porch. Wow! Daffy Duck for president!
If a tree falls in the forest with no one there did the tree make a sound? It's an old philosophical question. If a Tea Party member holds a racist sign and if the right wing radicals didn't see it, then it never happened. They have answered the question.
Not that this reasoning is yours exclusively, all liberal critics yell racist at the Tea Party movement because someone had a racist sign. But lets pretend that this is your independent observation. If we follow this logic then if some Muslims are terrorist then they all are. Of course this isn't the case but that is where your logic takes us...but we know it isn't you that comes up with the logic in the first place. To unravel this riddle I guess you have to wait for the next talking point.

I went to a Tea Party rally back when it seemed like it could be an independent populous movement calling for real change against politicians on both sides who hear in their mortal ears the devilish whisper of lobbyists, before it became too clear that this was the boiling down and thickening of the republican rightwing conservatives. Sadly, most of the people were racists and hate-mongers. My family and I felt very uncomfortable as independents and left shortly. And to flip your argument, if not all Muslims are terrorists then why do conservative fight the proposed Islamic center in NYC? …seems like you want it both ways. The fact that someone would find some significance in the fact you are Greek shows that these people can’t stop thinking like Archie Bunker.
