A thorough examination of Climategate evidence

After nearly a month and counting since the story broke on the biggest scandal in scientific history, a major daily newspaper has finally undertaken a thorough examination of the evidence in the Climategate scandal.

(AP Photo/Aijaz Rahi)

Granted, the newspaper in question is not in the United States but the U.K.  And still, even after a month the television news broadcasts of ABC, CBS, and NBC continue to ignore the story.

The London Daily Mail published their findings of a special investigation into Climategate.  And, the news isn't good for the scientific community, the United Nations, or anyone else who attempts to peddle the hoax of 'global warming' or its snake-oil cures.

Perhaps the most damning of the findings of the Daily Mail's investigation is the following admission by Professor Roger Pielke of the University of Colorado's environmental studies:

‘These emails open up the possibility that big scientific questions we’ve regarded as settled may need another look.

'They reveal that some of these scientists saw themselves not as neutral investigators but as warriors engaged in battle with the so-called sceptics.

‘They have lost a lot of credibility and as far as their being leading spokespeople on this issue of huge public importance, there is no going back.’

Just as damning as the admission that the scientists on the front lines of the 'global warming' propaganda have lost all credibility is the data showing that temperatures during the era known as 'the Medieval warm period,' which lasted roughly from 1000 to 1300 B.C., were much warmer than global temperatures today--a full 400-700 years before humans began pumping out those 'deadly greenhouse gases.'

This is the era that gave the present-day frozen continent of 'Greenland' its name.  During the period of Medieval warm, Greenland was indeed green, and farmers easily tilled the land for crops.  Red wine grapes also flourished in England, a land that today is not exactly known for its friendliness to such grapes.

Clearly, the earth today is nowhere near the level of global warmth that was typical of the Medieval warm period, despite our over-abundance of carbon going into the air.  And the data proved it, which meant that global warming proponents kicked up into high-gear their attempts to cover up, delete, or minimize this damning information.

As the Daily Mail's investigation states,

According to his tree rings, the period since 1960 had not seen a steep rise in temperature, as actual temperature readings showed - but a large and steady decline, so calling into question the accuracy of the earlier data derived from tree rings.

This is the context in which, seven weeks later, Jones presented his ‘trick’ - as simple as it was deceptive.

All he had to do was cut off Briffa’s inconvenient data at the point where the decline started, in 1961, and replace it with actual temperature readings, which showed an increase.

On the hockey stick graph, his line is abruptly terminated - but the end of the line is obscured by the other lines.

‘Any scientist ought to know that you just can’t mix and match proxy and actual data,’ said Philip Stott, emeritus professor of biogeography at London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.

‘They’re apples and oranges. Yet that’s exactly what he did.’

And thus, the most damning of the damnable and infamous Climategate 'smoking guns'--and yes, there are more than one.

In a previous article, we highlighted another of the scandal's smoking guns.

More information on this continually breaking story can be found at Essex County Conservative Examiner.

A key question, of course, revolves around the motivation for perpetrating such a hoax.  Why would a group of scientists participate in such an egregious breach of professional ethics?

According to NewsBusters, news commentator Cal Thomas answered that question quite well--'scientists can't get grants if they don't toe the line on climate change.'

LeChat: Exactly... this isn't a nice little innocent prank. They used manipulated data in preparation of reports for govs... isn't that a major crime on any issue? If you and I miss a few $k on the irs report, don't we get threatened?

They need jail, and we need bills that say, "NO MORE UN reports to be used when making policy in this sovereign nation".

The UN is a global tool; NOW it is obvious.

This thing would not need thousands of scientists to be involved. All that was need was for one or two people in perhaps five or six countries to adjust the raw data. Anyone using the data when making a comparison to CO2 would find the results that had been seeded into the data. The scientists would not be aware that they were being played. They would honestly think that their conclusions were correct. Only none of their predictions would ever be confirmed.

All the papers that used the data, and all the papers that used those papers for support, would therefore be invalid. In the vast majority of the cases I would expect that the authors are without blame, they made no mistake. The mistake was encoded into the base data before they even started.

It would only have taken a dozen people in just the right places, and remember it took years to pull this off.

So who might have put these people in just the right place all those years ago?

I do believe there is change going on right now with our climate but do not, in anyway shape or form, think that it's Man Made. Due to the elliptical rotation of the Earth, I feel that it is a Cyclic event, which is causing the climate change. We must, however, take precautions to stop our errant ways of discharging pollutants into the air. We do not need to join an EU organization that will cost our Country (USA) vast sums of money and dictate to us how and when this will be done. We must each take care of our own house to help improve the quality of the air that we breathe. Again, I reiterate, Global Warming is NOT MAN MADE!

Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to voice my opinion.

mmbWRITE your state and federal Attorneys General demanding Al Gore and others conducting Global Warming/Climate Change racketeering and mail fraud operations be brought to justice, indicted, tried, convicted and jailed. Carbon is the stuff of life. He (Obama) who controls carbon, especially CO2, controls the world. Think of the consequences if you do nothing! For one, the UK is becoming the poster child for George Orwell’s “1984” and the US government’s sponsorship of this worldwide Global Warming propaganda campaign puts it in a class with the failed Soviet Union’s relentless violation of the basic human right to truthful government generated information. Given ClimateGate’s burgeoning revelations of outrageous government misconduct and massive covert misinformation, what are the chances that this Administration’s National Health Care sales campaign is anywhere near the truth?

Are you angry about this obvious fraud and the national media's complicity in the cover-up, misinformation, reframing and misdirection of the issue? Take responsibility and take action. STOP all donations to the political party(s) responsible for this fraud. STOP donations to all environmental groups which funded this Global Warming propaganda campaign with our money, especially The Environmental Defense Fund. They have violated the public trust. KEEP donations local, close to home. MAKE donations to Oklahoma’s Senator Inhofe, the only politician to stand firmly against this obvious government/media coordinated information operation (propaganda) targeted at its own people. People that government leaders and employees are sworn to protect. WRITE your state and federal representatives demanding wall to wall investigations of government sponsored funding and coordination of this and related propaganda campaigns and demand indictments of those responsible.
