Just wanted to post some photos I took last night. More to come! Follow me at @concertexaminer on Twitter.
A few highlights:
-The mud...oh my goodness the mud. It was so bad I did laundry at 3am when I got home. That's the first time I ever threw my sneakers into the washing machine.
-Jay-Z was awesome. As I was taking photos, I found it impossible not to dance along. His "No Sleep Til' Brooklyn" tribute to MCA really set things off in the right direction.
-Karen O is an amazing performer.
-Light Rail worked out pretty well. Do your research regarding parking. The signs directing you where to park for the festival were almost useless. I had to drive around town looking for my own place to park. Ended up at the Newport Mall lots which ran me $22. So it would have been worth it to shell out the $30 a day for on-premise parking.
-Wish I had caught more of Q-Tip's set. It looked like a real party.
-The art was beautiful.
-Checked out MSTRKRFT at the end of the night. That was an amazing light show.
I will be posting a more detailed report this week, so stay tuned.
