Is there anything better than the sound of a child's laughter? How about the sound of your friends, family or coworkers laughing so hard they wet themselves? Way better (and far more entertaining) if you ask me. So, without further ado, I present the BCSE's definitive must-have holiday list of comedy albums:
Josh Gondelman's "Everything's the Best"
Gondleman is Boston native, now living in NYC, whose likeable brand of humor is massively received across audiences nationwide. Check out my review of "Everything's the Best" at UndertheGunReview.net.
Joe List's "So Far, No Good"
Another Boston native, List hilariously talks about growing up with braces and glasses and the trials and tribulations of dating in New York City. Click here for the BCSE review of List's CD!
Marc Maron's This Has to be Funny"
Boston comedy legend Marc Maron is a comedic genius. He’s smart, sharply witty, self-depricating – pretty much all that you could ask for in a stand-up comedian. What’s refreshing about this fourth release is that, while we of course get to see the neurotic, ‘heady’ Maron we know and love, there’s really not too much in the way of politically-themed material. Louis Katz's "If These Balls Could Talk"
Like I've said before, I absolutely adore this CD and still maintain it to be one of my personal top faves of 2011. Katz's high-energy irreverant brand of comedy is just what your holiday needs. Check out my review here!
Wyatt Cenac's "Comedy Person"
The Daily Show correspondent and King of the Hill writer/story editor released his debut album and DVD Comedy Person on August 23. The DVD boasts 25 extra minutes of the special that never made it to the televised version earlier this year, and there’s no more fitting name for a special that reminds you at all moments of what Cenac does best.
