Where to drink this New Year's Eve in L.A.

It’s the end of the decade, one year closer to 2012, the year it’s all supposed to end according to the superstitious. So let’s party like there’s no tomorrow.

Los Angeles has many different venues for your eating and drinking pleasure.

But remember to take a taxi or have a non-drinking designated driver this Friday night. If you have one too many and no friend or family member to bail you out, AAA is offering free towing for the 14th year in a row. Between 6pm and 6am December 31 to January 1, call 1-800-400-4AAA and ask for a tipsy tow. This does not include rides for passengers, and is a one-way tow up to seven miles. Anything after seven miles will be charged at normal rates. You do not have to be a member of AAA to use the free towing.

Now to the fun stuff:

Hungry Cat in Hollywood has a three course prix fixe meal for $55 per person, featuring the finest seafood. They’re also open on New Year’s Day for brunch and dinner. A little kitteh also whispered that a new Hungry Cat will open on the Westside in 2011.

Church & State offers two seatings of prix fixe meals, the first is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., for $65 (five course), and the second is 8:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and is six course and also includes party favors and a champagne toast at midnight.

If you’re in Pasadena for the Rose Parade or Bowl Game, be sure to stop in at the new 1886 bar in the Raymond.

Finally, the 213 group is offering the ultimate New Year’s Eve all-access pass to the downtown party. I’ll let the press release expose the awesomeness of this event:
