Where to find flowers in the Lansing and Jackson area

Flowers are a beautiful way to say “I love you” on Valentines Day or any day of the year. In the Lansing and Jackson area you can find some of the most beautiful flowers in the world growing in gardens and wild in nature – during the spring and summer that is. This time of year, particularly with all the snow we’ve had the last couple weeks you won’t be finding flowers outside – live ones at least.

For Valentines Day you do have a variety of choices of places to get that special person in your life flowers.  The following list is certainly not all inclusive for the mid-Michigan area and you are highly encouraged to support local businesses so if you know of a florist not on this list near you please pay them a visit and see what gorgeous flowers they have to offer.

Also, do not limit your selection to the typical dozen red roses or the single red rose. Although both are wonderful there are thousands of other choices including potted plants that flower – why not give a gift that will continue to give joy for years rather than ending up in the trash or compost pile in a few days or a week.

If you can’t make it to one of the florists in the area don’t rule out Meijer or Kroger – yes, I have seen some beautiful flowers at both of these stores in Jackson and am sure the stores in Lansing and other parts of the country. I, the Lansing City Guide, did like the potted red tea roses at Kroger but my preference would be pink tea roses!
