Travel to Lansing, the capital of Michigan, the Great Lakes State

There is much more behind the scenes in the capital of Michigan, Lansing, than simply being the capital of the Great Lakes State. No matter what your likes if you are traveling to Lansing you are sure to find many sights, activities, or events to suit your taste.

If you plan to travel to Lansing, Michigan in the near future or are looking for a new travel destination you have several options available to get to Lansing. Lansing is accessed by several main highways. Greyhound, Indian Trails, and Michigan all provide bus service to and from Lansing. If you prefer traveling by train Amtrak has service to Detroit and Chicago. Or, you can always fly into Capital Region International.

Of course you will want a place to stay while in Lansing. Lansing has a selection of hotels and motels ranging from expensive to something that could always fit your budget. You might enjoy a stay at the Wild Goose Inn, which is a bed and breakfast located a block from Michigan State University. Each of their rooms have gas fireplaces and many have private Jacuzzis.

Once settled in the options are almost limitless. You might enjoy a peaceful walk along the Red Cedar River, take in a baseball game at Oldsmobile Park, or take a tour of the beautiful Victorian era capital building. Major shopping centers provide plenty of shopping options or you may prefer a visit to historic Old Town.

On your visit to Lansing you can take sailing lessons on Lake Lansing, spend an afternoon at Potter Park Zoo, or enjoy the spectacular gardens at Michigan State. The Riverwalk Theater and Wharton Center are only two Lansing choices for theater and music enjoyment. The Lansing area also offers many bike, walk, or hiking trails, nature centers, and a long list of historical buildings and museums to visit.

By car, bus, train or plane, no matter how you arrive, there is much to offer in and around the capital of the Great Lakes State, Lansing.
