From WindMark Beach to Port St. Joe, once you cross this Florida bridge named after the late Senator, George G. Tapper, you've traveled through time, according to Dan from Happy Ours Kayak. The time zone changes from Central to Eastern. So, I literally catapulted forward an hour, and then went back in time after dinner. It was as if I didn't indulge in the sunsetini during sunset at Sunset Coastal Grill, or the hot crab and artichoke dip, fresh Gulf shrimp and fried cheese grit cake --or their signature key lime pie.
For the hour-and-a-half I sat by the window, watching the gorgeous sunset and the herons feeding on crabs, I don't want to forget the super southern experience I thoroughly enjoyed. This may be the Forgotten Coast, but I'll always remember the stretch of ocean that took me forward in time, driving through a bay area highway lined with pine trees with tops that remind me of an umbrella that burst upward, and where you pass warning signs with images of bears crossing. Luckily, I will remember all of this -- because I have leftovers to prove I was there.
