When the President of the United States smokes your cigar – you know you have something special. And when you have a special relationship….
So the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal is old news, but it has finally been confirmed by several inside sources that Gurhka Cigar Company’s flagship cigar the Grand Reserve, was the cigar that was used during their “special relationship” in the white house.
Gurhka has recently released the following statement, "Bill Clinton would not smoke anything short of the best-of-the-best, thus why he kept several Gurkha Cigars, producers of the most expensive cigars in the world, around his office for special occasions. Several inside sources have finally confirmed that Gurkha Cigars was indeed the cigar that was used between Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton. It was in fact the Grand Reserve Gurkha Cigar, which has been reported to be one of Bill Clinton’s favorite stogies!"
The news has come out in conjunction with the production of an HBO movie about Bill Clinton entitled “Special Relationship” in which Gurhka’s Grand Reserve is likely to be featured. Dennis Quaid will be playing the role of Bill Clinton, while Hilary Clinton is set to be played by Julianne Moore.
Gurhka has established itself as the Rolls Royce in the cigar community, consistently producing the world’s most expensive and exclusive cigars – including the Black Dragon which was released in 2006 with only had 5 boxes of 100 cigars each, retailing for an astonishing $115,000 a box.
Gurhka currently has over 20 different lines of cigars in its portfolio but the production is very limited on a majority of their cigars making them more sought after by those looking for a more exclusive smoke. Beyond former President Clinton, Gurhka has an extensive list of celebrities and political figures that are avid Gurhka cigar smokers including Matthew McConaughey, Andy Garcia, Matt Lauer and even Lindsey Lohan.
But don’t feel too left out if you can’t afford to smoke a thousand dollar cigar, Gurhka’s extensive line of cigars include many which run under $15 a stick, including the Grand Reserve that President Clinton was so fond of.

In the upcoming weeks, I will be reviewing several cigars in the Gurkha line including the Grand Reserve, The Beauty, The Beast, and a less expensive version of the Black Dragon. So subscrube above to be able to get updated when new articles post!
I love Gurhka cigars - but I usually save them for a special occasion since I normally try to stay in the $5 price range.
That's hilarious! Well, I guess no publicity is bad publicity!
I love the Grand Reserve, but my favorite cigar they make is the Titan - will you be reviewing that cigar?
Big smokes - that need a big palate - but I like em'. Clinton - can't say that I'm too big a fan of that cat - but at least he has good taste in cigars.
I love the Gurhka Warrior and Titan!
My second favorite label - but only when I have the cash to shell out!
Gurhka produces some pretty high quality stuff but my favorite is the Beast - now that's a big boy!! Interesting article.
The grand reserve is pretty solid, but I've never tried to do anything but smoke it.
I'm gonna buy a gurhka cigar.
Talk about hitting two birds with one stone Bill. ;-)
I heard that Lewinski once queefed a cigar after an all-nighter with Bubba!!
Good smokes - not sure what to think about what they were being used for. Seems like a waste. Oh well.
i used to use those as blunt wraps maybe he did too
I'm still waiting for him to grace the cover of Cigar Aficionado magazine. At least he'd be owning the story instead of ducking it!
Dear Andy,
I have a friend of mine who lives in N.J. and
sometimes he sends me some NC cigars to try out and I,some CC for him to enjoy. About 3 months ago he sent me 5 Gurkha, Grand Reserva.
First I must add that I've been smoking Habanos for 38 years so maybe, like 90% of the cigar smokers in the world, I can't fully appreciate a NC cigar. Out of all the NC cigars that I've smoked, this was truly the worse one ever.It has no balance, no richness and the taste, well, the taste ? what taste ?
OHH, the COGNAC, that's right, Well again like 90% of the world, here in France we drink It, we don't smoke it, but then again, we must be wrong. We enjoy drinking the Cognac and smoking
a real cigar to accompany the smoke. As for the Marketing gimmick about Big Bill and Monica, in the oval office, Now Gurkha knows what to do to better their cigars and even more how to flavor them without wasting good Cognac. Thank you for reading me out. there is no intent to offend anyone, It's just my 2 cents on some "Savoir Vivre " .
Best regards,
Guy Buscéma
Calvisson, France
I'm no fan of Gurkha cigars. However, I might enjoy a specially dipped Grand Reserve.
Are you serious? Gurkha makes some of the most over priced and worst cigars in the industry.
