President Obama in trying to convince Americans that we need health reform now, keeps coming up with examples of how doctors are ripping the system and people off to get money because normal health care doesn’t pay well.
President Obama has never managed anything in his life especially anything related to health care. He is clueless and every time he opens his mouth it becomes obvious. Health care is quite profitable they way it is until the government steps in. It is true that running a doctor’s office is more costly than it once was. However, one of the few things that make it more costly is countless frivolous lawsuits and that issue could be resolved by real tort reform.
Obama said that doctors who only treat patients in a way to help them make good choices don’t get paid much because of a fee schedule that is out there. What he didn’t go on to explain is that the fee schedule is largely set by the government. The schedule isn’t just “out there,” the government sets the fee schedule for what doctors will get paid by medicare and other government medical programs. Then private insurance companies must react to the extremely low pay set up by medicare and must raise prices on private individuals to make up for the loss that the government causes.
Obama goes on to say that for something like diabetes, having doctors altering patients diets and guiding them to make the right decisions and “monitoring” whether they are taking their medications, the fee schedule pays so low that that doctors can (and would) instead amputate a foot and get thirty thousand dollars. Obama also said something similar a few weeks back about doctors taking out tonsils for money in the same way. If doctors were taking out more tonsils than necessary it might have had more to do with the fear of being sued for not taking out tonsils if there was the slightest indication that maybe they should be taken out.
Obama has no examples of doctors doing any such thing. Obama may say that this is a possible hypothetical but that’s like saying it’s possible the president could be a fraud so we better elect a new president and reform the whole process because the system lends itself to fraud where a sleeper Manchurian Kenyan citizen could come into power and make America a communist nation. Should we fundamentally alter a health care system that’s better than any in the world because incentives exist for greedy Big Medicine (your local doctor) to make more money by carving you up? Perhaps we should just eliminate the government fee schedule and let the free market system work?

We need doctors. Do we need politicians? Do we have enough laws on the books to run the country for the rest of the year without any more legislation? I bet we do. Well, what if a large percentage of doctors are offended by the characterization of this president that they are all greedy evil people who manipulate patients care to maximize fees without regard to medical ethics or human suffering. What would happen to us if the doctors took the rest of this year off? I can live without politicians. And I truly believe the doctors are more honorable and more ethical than the political crowd who rules over us in Washington DC.
I am tired of Obama opening up his pie hole and spewing nothing but lies.Does he really think that Americans haven't figured him out yet?I sent an email to the White House informing on myself,waiting patiently for a knock on the door.
From what I've hear I would have to vote NO on this heath reform plan. Because it's based on a lie. Obama said in MT yesterday that "we can cut costs by 2/3 with reform." That is complete BS.
And those anecdotes about doctors removing your tonsles or foot for profit are embarasing. That's illegal. A doctor who does that should have their license revoked. If you get diagnosed with diabetes they already will give you diet information to help you avoid gangrene and amputation.
How does Obama know doctors cut peoples feet off for money. Shouldn't he call the police on the doctors doing this, If he really has the names of doctors and knowledge he should turn them in it is a phelony.
I'm shocked by what this president says. He becomes more and more entangled in his lies. No government health care is what I vote for. I wished someone would check and confirm this number of 46 million Americans without insurance. I don't believe it; and there are some of us, that don't need or want health care, why should we be required to have it. I don't think this man has read the 1000 page document, nor does he understand what he is reading. We do not want the government involved in our personal medical care! Period! M
