Parents, grandparents or friends if you are looking for a way for children to learn and remember bible stories “100 Bible Stories” by Stephen Elkins could be your answer.
The bright colored illustrations on each page are only the beginning of the terrific features found in “100 Bible Stories”. The book comes with two CDs which each contain 50 songs to go along with the bible stories.
Each story in “100 Bible Stories” has a synopsis of the Biblical account in language a preschooler can understand, a one-sentence summary observation from the, an interpretation statement, and an application statement. All of this provides a solid bible study and the applications are theologically sound!
While “100 Bible Stories” is recommended for ages 4-8 the illustrations and music hold the attention of younger children and provides a wonderful family devotional time for children and adults. The book does not cover all of the stories in the bible but does give a good beginning for young children’s first experience with learning bible stories.
I will admit I do not own “100 Bible Stories” but I enjoyed reading parts of it while at the book store in Lansing and my grandchildren were fascinated with the idea of the music CDs that were included with it. “100 Bible Stories” is on my list for birthday gifts in the near future.
