There is a new reality show coming called K-Town which is the Asian version of MTV's popular show Jersey Shore. The show is being produced by singer/actor Tyrese who recently put out this casting call on Craigslist to find his cast.
There will be 8 people, 4 guys and 4 girls, living in a house and partying together in Koreatown, Los Angeles. The official cast members of KTown are Young Lee, Joe Cha, Peter Le, Steve Kim, Jennifer Field, Scarlet Chan, Violet Kim, and Jasmine Chang.
The producers say that they are,
“going to show Asian Americans like they’ve never been seen before to the rest of the world.”
TMZ has posted a cast reel for the new show which has only shot its pilot and hasn't been picked up by a network yet. You can view that clip here.
Local Jacksonville resident Mike M. says of the new reality show K-Town,
"I would watch it, I watch Jersey Shore and this K-Town reality show looks equally as entertaining."

Ewwwww no thanks...I have no interest in watching a bunch of unattractive korean people party. If it's about asians shouldn't it include other races of asians instead of just Koreans?
Um, I'm not sure if your blind or something, but if there were only Koreans, it would say that. Reality is, it's Koreans, Viets, Chinese, etc. It's only called ktown because the majority of the cast are Koreans.
The cast is not all Korean, the reason the show is called K-Town is because of the location.

uhhhh i don't think all of them are korean as it's obvious by their last names that some are either mixed, chinese, or vietnamese. the reason why it's called K-town is because Koreatown is a popular clubbing area for young asians in SoCal. Nevertheless, i agree that the show looks stupid.
This cast actually beats the Jersey Shore cast in terms of looks. That Peter Le guy is smoking hot.

A show about a bunch of asian partying f*-ups is the vibe I get.. The show looks stupid only because there's probably people with very low IQ's in the show. I am only assuming, and I could be totally wrong though... we'll see, I may give it one shot.

i think it should be a mix of races in 1 popular area at least. this show would just embarrass the asian community.
East Asians wanting to be white. One dyed her hair blond and at least two of the girls had plastic surgery on their eyelids.
WOW those people are just going to make us Asians look bad. freaking stupid. and if you are going to do an ASIAN version of JERSEY SHORE at least include other Asians. PLUS the cast just looks like a bunch of rich asian kids that grew up in a white community or with super rich parents. they have NO idea what it's like to be a TRUE ASIAN.
Hey guys, you are making a lot of assumptions about this show before having seen it. You don't know what the cast are like, and whether they are affluent, have low IQ, or are "wanting to be white." You should evaluate after watching the show.
Asians get so little exposure in the media relative to their numbers, that anything is probably better than nothing (but then, there was that Long Duk Dong from the horrible 16 Candles...).
I am hopeful that this show might break some of those ultra narrow stereotypes.

uhh, i know these people and trust me they aint no rich white wannabe asian. they're more asian than you probably. i know 4 out of the 6 people on this cast and they already did the pilot last week and just got picked up 3 days ago and no i will not say who picked them up cause im not allowed to. They got 4 koreans 1 chinese and 1 vietnamese person.

The cast members are all"Twinkies"though, yellow on the out side, white in the inside, most of them probably couldn't speak their native language.
So, they're technically asian, but really white.
Any ways Koreans are cool people once you get to know them.

Dude... Angry person who wrote the last post. CALM DOWN. Take a few deep breaths. What does growing up "white" mean? Now if you watch Jersey Shore you can understand why Italians or people from Jersey Shore are upset. The show definitely paints a picture of Italians and New Jersians being complete failures at life and a detriment to society as a whole. But unfortunately, they're complete inadequacy at being intelligent functioning human beings is what keeps us tuned in and the ratings up. Now K-Town featuring Asians (whether they're raised "white," whatever that's suppose to mean, or Asian) will have to be as big of a wreck as Jersey Shore to get those kind of ratings. So you understand that it will paint negative picture of Asians in the media. I agree Asians don't get much media coverage, but K-Town is not the kind of media coverage we want.
From the comments of the characters being in porn and prostitution, this has got to be as big of a hit as Jersey Shore. I have my DVR set to awesomeness.
