There are some really great places to eat brunch in downtown Greenville on a Sunday if you're hungry and can spare about $20 per person. As mentioned before, Soby's on the Side, serves a different brunch on Sundays than available on Saturday--$18 per adult, $9 per person. I have yet to try it out but it sounds like it may be buffet style, all you can eat. Unfortunately I cannot really eat that much but I'll be darned if I don't try to get my money's worth. Another buffet that I've heard raves about and have plans to try is at one of my favorite restaurants, Soby's. Of course, the two restaurants are related--Soby's is in front of Soby's on the Side, on Main Street--and they both are under the Table 301 umbrella. Soby's brunch is buffet-style and includes an omelet station, carving station, dessert table, breakfast items and lunch items. They have gourmet breads and salads, several selections of meat and even breakfast desserts! One of my favorite bloggers and college classmate, who happens to be a vegetarian, wrote about it and even she, a picky eater, loved the selection: http://sweettater.wordpress.com/2009/08/23/brunch-at-sobys/
Another place that I have been a few times for brunch is High Cotton, a beautiful and contemporary location overlooking the Reedy River. High Cotton is a pretty fancy restaurant and I have only eaten there for dinner once because it's a little out of my normal budget but the brunch menu, although short, is surprisingly affordable. It is one of those restaurants where it just feels right to drink a Mimosa or Bloody Mary before noon. Unfortunately they only serve brunch on Sundays, from 10-2, but open for lunch at 11am on Saturdays. Check out their menu, it features some lunch items as well. I've not heard any complaints yet. And on a side note, theirs is my favorite cocktail menu in town.
