" Did you hear your boy , Floyd calling out Manny Pacquiao on twitter yesterday?" inquired Big Steve addressing Downtown Ronnie Brown as soon as we walked in Dave's barbershop on San Fernando Road.
" Say what? " cut in Dave the Barber:" What in the hell is twitter? Is it some kind of a bird?"
" No , you old fool," replied Big Steve:" Twitter is a social network on the internet where people express their feelings and their opinions and other people follow them. Like Floyd has about two million followers or two million people who care what he has to say."
" So let me get this straight," exclaimed Dave the Barber:"Floyd called out Manny on social network in front two million people. What exactly did he say?"
Big Steve smiled:" He said step up punk. Manny Pacquiao I am calling you out. Let's fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see. My jail sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in."
" Forgive me if I am a bit skeptical," exclaimed Dave the Barber:" But this sounds like a whole bunch of hot air. Where I come from if you want to call a man out you go to him directly and privately and you call him out. You don't put your business like that on a front street in front of millions of folks on some sort of social network. You just don't do that sort of thing. That's all there is to it."
"Step up punk," chuckled Al the Barber:" Those are the fighting words, the emphasis on words. But then what do you expect from Floyd, dumb ass with no class. All he can do is talk. I wish Manny would call his bluff and kick his ass. I think Manny did already say that he wants to fight Floyd. Who knows, this might be a blessing in disguise."
“Disguise,” cried out Downtown Ronnie Brown:” There is no disguise to his statement. Those are the fighting words, but the emphasis is on fighting. Money Mayweather got out of doing time. He’s got a small window of opportunity and he wants to fight Manny on May 5th. Being that he was called a king of social media, the king has issued his challenge. Would Manny Pacquiao step up to the plate?
