Mayweather to settle matters in criminal court. Is calendar open for Pacquiao?

Undefeated super star fighter, Floyd Mayweather Jr. structured a deal  that will settle two of his pending criminal cases in Las Vegas. One of the cases involved domestic violence towards mother of his child, Josie Harris. Second charge was of battery on a security guard over parking citations.

It was confirmed by the Clark's County District Attorney, David Roger that multi divisional champion Floyd Mayweather who currently lives in Las Vegas in 12,000 square feet mansion, will enter guilty pleas in Justice Court in Las Vegas today  on two counts of harassment and one count of battery domestic violence. Immediately following the plea Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa is expected to sentence Mayweather. The plea bargain deal will drop original felony charges of coercion, grand larceny and robbery to misdemeanors.  Free on $31,000 bail from September 9th,2010 incident where Floyd attacked Josie Harris in front of their children, Mayweather faces $3,000 in fines and a jail term anywhere from two days to eighteen month.

Next week  Floyd Mayweather is expected to plead no contest to a charge of battery and pay $1,000 fine for poking and verbally assaulting a security guard over parking problems last year.

Mayweather's attorney, Richard Wright was not available for comments, but Los Angeles based criminal attorney, Randy Tennen explained that those kinds of plea bargain agreements usually lead to no real jail time for defendants. In worst case scenario Mayweather's jail sentence will be suspended and he will be on probation.

There are several other cases pending against Floyd Mayweather in civil court, but as of now super star fighter remains a free man; free to do his real job, to perform inside the squared circle.

Earlier this year Mayweather stopped Victor Ortiz for WBC welterweight belt. Controversial nature of the knock out scored by Floyd Mayweather in September bout created a fire storm in the media. More media hoopla followed in late October when Money Mayweather announced on national television that he will be ready to get back in the ring on May 5th , 2012.

The whole boxing universe wants to see  an American super star boxer to face pound for pound king, Manny Pacquiao next May. Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum recently stated that there  are no more road blocks left in making much anticipated showdown between two best fighters on the planet. Several days ago, on his thirty third birthday, Manny  Pacquiao said that he would be willing to take a smaller piece of the pie to fight an American star. Did Floyd Mayweather just clear his calendar for that fight? Stay tuned for further developments.
