" Look who is here," exclaimed Dave the Barber as I entered his fine Barbershop on San Fernando Road:" It's Friday night. Why don't you spend some quality time with your gorgeous young wife? Somehow I sensed you would be here as soon as I heard Floyd received get out of jail free card, I knew you would be here talking about it. Let me tell you something, I just felt in in my old bones and I knew that somehow some way Floyd was going to weasel his way out of going to jail today."
" If you know so much how come you didn't mention anything about it last week?" inquired Downtown Ronnie Brown: " Hindsight is twenty twenty, but please don't act like you know the true nature of my boy , Floyd."
" Watch your manners, Ronnie!" cried out Dave the Barber:" I am sick of you defending that criminal. Why don't you go and do his time for him. I am sure he will pay you good money. What really bugs me about this situation is money. They say money can't buy you happiness, but it sure can buy an extension or deferment of justice. Justice delayed is justice denied. Beating up his baby's mama, I just don't understand how he could still get preferential treatment. It's just not fair."
" If you want fair, go to Pomona. They have county fair over there in the summer time," shouted Ronnie Brown:" Mr. Money Mayweather is a big star. He has a mega fight coming up on May 5th at the Vegas casino. It's a major boost for the local economy and a good reason to postpone the sentence. As team Mayweather would say it, money talks and B.S. walks."
" Mega fight! What fight? Did I miss something?" shouted Al the Barber:" The paper said his opponent is yet to be determined. There is no fight. Defensive wiz in the ring, Floyd found a way to avoid getting hit in a court of law. Who wants to see him fight anyways? That crook doesn't fight. He rolls his shoulders and uses his elbows and dodges and ducks and does everything but fights. Here is a fresh idea; put him in the ring with Sergio Mora on May 5th. I bet there will be a new record of the least punches thrown in a fight. Put them in the ring on May 5th and wake me up when it's over, just in time to watch Pretty Boy Floyd go to jail to do his time on June 1st. I bet he will find a way to weasel out of the new date as well."
" What fight? Did you say what fight?" perked up Big Steve getting ready to have his bald head shaved:" Didn't you hear Bob Arum say there are no more issues in making Manny Floyd fight. All the stars are aligned for May 5th. Did you know that May 5th turns out to be on Saturday only once in seven years. And it happens to be this year. It's a sign from above. Boxing gods have already scheduled mega Manny Money fight for this year. And the date is May 5th,2012.”
