RE: "UPDATE: Another victim of overzealous Arlington social workers "(1:35 PM MST)
Andrew E. Roesell (Manassas Park, VA) said, "Examiner Reader, a few days ago you never explained how your knowledge of the "charges" against Kit & Nancy exceed those of, here I am quoting Guardian Angel from a previous posting when she said, "...the Hearing Officer at the Administrative Appeal who exonerated the couple of ANY neglect or abuse SAW and EXAMINED the plastic box, and deemed it safe. He even had to tell the County's Attorney and two social workers in attendance to quit harping on this non-issue. The Hearing Officer was a seasoned professional, working out of the Richmond, VA headquarters, named George Walton. A complete copy of the decision was made available to the DC Examiner." So, you really must think that your own professional social worker knowledge is superior to Mr. Walton's, whom, I'm guessing, is your boss at some point? Why are so you are right and he is wrong, and, why are YOU so concerned about this case, anyway? Is your ox being gored? ..." (More)

YouTube User said, "I agree, Andrew! Otherwise, he/she wouldn't keep posting the same comment with the exact same wording over and over again. I wonder what stake he/she has in the custody of Sabrina. Also, I've seen the videos of your little daughter with Sabrina, and I must compliment you! They are both such beautiful and sweet little girls! ..." (More)
RE: "UPDATE: Another victim of overzealous Arlington social workers "(1:12 PM MST)
Rosie said, "As a matter of fact, Mr. Bismark, there is a satirical essay that has been going around on the internet for a few years about just that situation. I'm not sure who the original author of it is, but it goes like this: Satire: Child Protective Services and Baby Jesus December 26, 0000, 7:06 AM NEWS RELEASE INFANT DISCOVERED IN BARN, CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES LAUNCH PROBE: Nazareth Carpenter Being Held On Charges Involving Underage Mother Bethlehem, Judea - Authorities were today alerted by a concerned citizen who noticed a family living in a barn. Upon arrival, Family Protective Service personnel, accompanied by police, took into protective care an infant child named Jesus, who had been wrapped in strips of cloth and placed in a feeding trough by his 14-year old mother, Mary of Nazareth. During the confrontation, a man identified as Joseph, also of Nazareth, attempted to stop the social workers. Joseph, aided by several local shepherds, tried to forestall efforts to take the child, but were restrained by the police. Also held for questioning are three foreigners who allege to be wise men from an eastern country. The INS and Homeland Security officials are seeking information about these, who may be in the country illegally. A source with the INS states that they had no passports, but were in possession of gold and other possibly illegal substances. They resisted arrest saying that they had been warned by God to avoid officials in Jerusalem and to return quickly to their own country. The chemical substances in their possession will be tested. The owner of the barn is also being held for questioning. The manager of Bethlehem Inn faces possible revocation of his license for violating health and safety regulations by allowing people to stay in the stable. Civil authorities are also investigating the zoning violations involved in maintaining livestock in a commercially-zoned district. The location of the minor child will not be released, and the prospect for a quick resolution to this case is doubtful. Asked about when Jesus would be returned to his mother, a Child Protective Service spokesperson said, "The father is middle-aged and the mother definitely underage. We are checking with officials in Nazareth to determine what their legal relationship is. Joseph has admitted taking Mary from her home in Nazareth because of a census requirement. However, because she was obviously pregnant when they left, investigators are looking into other reasons for their departure. Joseph is being held without bond on charges of molestation, kidnapping, child endangerment, and statutory rape. Mary was taken to the Bethlehem General Hospital where she is being examined by doctors. Charges may also be filed against her for endangerment. She will also undergo psychiatric evaluation because of her claim that she is a virgin and that the child is from God. The director of the psychiatric wing said, "I don't profess to have the right to tell people what to believe, but when their beliefs adversely affect the safety and well-being of others - in this case her child - we must consider her a danger to others. The unidentified drugs at the scene didn't help her case, but I'm confidant that with the proper therapy regimen we can get her back on her feet." A spokesperson for the governor's office said, "Who knows what was going through their heads? But regardless, their treatment of the child was inexcusable, and the involvement of these others frightening. There is much we don't know about this case, but for the sake of the child and the public, you can be assured that we will pursue this matter to the end." ..." (More)
RE: "UPDATE: Another victim of overzealous Arlington social workers "(12:02 PM MST)
Andrew E. Roesell (Manassas Park, VA) said, "Like other readers, my guess, after reading through the correspondence, is that the main person writing as "Examiner Reader" either is one of the social workers involved in what really is an officially authorized abduction of Sabrina, or else, a friend or colleague of one. This person revels in sarcasm, repeatedly lies and twists facts, and insinuates at how superior in intelligence and knowledge she is, then the detractors of CPS in this case. She cites terrible cases so as to justify the injustice done in THIS case. This person, when corrected on points of fact by Sabrina's mother or "Sabrina Case Follower," does not back-up an inch. If this person, indeed, works for CPS, it should make any disinterested observer tremble. The disguise is so terribly transparent. Why not just own up? Just take off the mask? I have told you who I am, why won't you do the same? Also, confession is good for the soul! ..." (More)

Billy Bismark said, "Billy Bismark: With regard to the charges by CPS that Sabrina did not have a proper bassinet. I want to commend “Case Follower” for her/his insightfully and brilliant remarks posted May 4, 10:22 PM. Excellent point! Verily, verily! If CPS had been around when Jesus was laid in a manger in a stable with live stock---CPS would have certainly intervened and taken the baby away from Joseph and Mary. Another, comparison: Joseph was not the biological father of Jesus. Hmm, there goes his case before Bethlehem’s CPS. “Centurion! Centurion! Come take this pupilus away! ..." (More)

Case Follower said, "Arlington's CPS agency and County Attorney Office throw tax dollars around lavishly and cost ineffectively. In the Sabrina case, both parents and Nancy's mother split the $350,000 legal costs (and counting) and Arlington County doggedly kept pursuing this like a vicious pit bull. (Incidentally, the female lead social worker in the case actually owns a pit bull! Does this reveal a "kind, gentle nurturer" or a "gang-banger"?) Going through two lengthy court trials (tens or hundreds of hours) must've cost the County several hundred thousand dollars. It didn't matter to them, it is only the TAX PAYERS' money, not theirs. A sensible, private sector businessman would've kept the family intact, used half that money to provide GOOD private sector social workers (like Cheryl Wietz and Falls Church Parent-Child Center) and unite the family. CPS and the Courts of Arlington had an agenda, favor the foster parents (who displayed a very selfish, disputatious nature throughout the ordeal). Christopher, Nancy and Louise were always ready and willing to provide a multi-generational home, with the services of a nanny, supplemented by yet other baby watchers from their neighborhood baby-sitting Co-Op, but the County chose to pursue their mean-spirited and irrational course of action. The County was wasteful, bull-headed, recalcitrant and showed no mercy on an innocent family. Their only justifications are lies, exaggerrations, pecadilloes and non-issues. The County's Attorney and G.A.L. are just spin artists. They are anaolgous to "mud slingers" in a vicious political campaign. They are experts not only at destroying families but at twisting the truth, taking things out of context and using emotionally-laden non-sequitors. ..." (More)

Chesapeake Bay Golf Outing said, "The Chesapeake Bay Foundation has chosen sustainably designed golf courses as one way to spread its message to decision makers. CBF worked with Akridge, a real estate developer that stresses sustainability in its projects, and the Brick Companies, the owners of Atlantic Golf, to host the Akridge Save the Bay Classic at Queenstown Harbor golf course on May 8th. The day brought business leaders and decision makers from around the mid-Atlantic together for a day of environmentally friendly golf and discussion at the Queenstown, Maryland course. Located on the shore of the scenic Chester River, the course has received certification in Environmental Planning from the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, a program administered by Audubon International (AI). In addition to the tournament, the course will be the site of an upcoming workshop on sustainably managing golf courses for mid-Atlantic course superintendents. CBF and AI will jointly sponsor the program. A CBF review found that the course captures 80 percent of the rainfall and stores it in ponds. This water is used to irrigate the course, conserving water and reducing runoff. In addition, the course incorporates wide buffers of no-mow zones around ponds and streams and along the riverside. These buffers take up nutrient and chemical pollution that would otherwise run into the river or leach into shallow groundwater. Course managers control insects and plant diseases using integrated pest management, which helps them reduce their use of pesticides. For example, to prevent fungus from attacking the vulnerable greens, air circulation is improved, sometimes with fans. In the ponds, fish eat the algae, eliminating the need for algaecides. The course uses locally manufactured fertilizer based on chicken manure. Because the course has large areas of natural vegetation, fertilizer use is curtailed. With its careful management, the course has lowered the nitrates and nitrogen in its groundwater compared. Keeping nitrogen out of streams and rivers is a key to protecting the Bay. In addition, the careful use of pesticides protects wildlife on the course and the long roughs and no cut zones create wildlife habitat. ..." (More)

Blondie LeBlanc said, "Mine too, Gail Lakritz! The system of "providing families in crisis with services in efforts to keep them intact" obviously was not applied in the case of Sabrina's parents. Why should a mother be determined unable to be a "primary caretaker" for her own child just because she has a developmental disability? There are therapies available to help people with that condition, such as those offeren by the Falls Church Parent-Child Center. ..." (More)
