International Orange in San Francisco is a luxurious, eco-friendly oasis in city. You’ll leave feeling uplifted with gorgeous, glowing skin. Named after the paint color of the Golden Gate Bridge, International Orange transports guests in a tranquil, pampering atmosphere focused on wellness as well as beauty.

The Facials
I’ve enjoyed some of the best facials I’ve ever had at IO. Aestheticians take their time and are exceptionally talented and knowledgeable. They use many elegant, highly effective, green beauty products and customize treatments to address individual needs. The shoulder and neck massages feel divine. I leave feeling beautiful inside and out.

The Custom Enzyme Boost facial ($128) is customized at every step along the way with a fruit cocktail of pineapple, papaya, and grapefruit to break down dead skin cells and promote the regeneration of new cells. Skin becomes incredibly soft and renewed. IO recently introduced two new focuses for this facial: Pore Clarifying and Lift and Hydrate.

     International Orange Yoga Studio

Extend your facial with an add-on service. IO spent a lot of time finding just the right products for the new Bright Eyes treatment ($30), which gives an instant eyelift so it’s perfect on a day when you’re going to a special event.

Wonderful Things about International Orange
• IO is both a day spa and yoga studio that emphasizes both beauty and health, seeking to help people reconnect with body, skin, and spirit. Along with facials, IO offers a wide variety of massages and yoga classes.
• The pace is slow and peaceful.
• The space is modern and welcoming.
• I love that a shower, sauna, and sundeck are available before and after treatments and yoga. Showers are especially good before a facial, because they soften skin and open pores.
• IO keeps it green by incorporating many green business practices, such as using a green cleaning service. Most products are organic or natural. All are what they consider to be “clean” and non-toxic. They also hold a Green Yoga Certificate from the Green Yoga Association.
• IO has their own line of green beauty products that are made with rare organic, wild-crafted, and biodynamic ingredients.

     Sundeck at International Orange

• The IO shop offers a well-chosen array of high-end, eco-friendly beauty treatments, candles, fragrance, jewelry, and accessories, some of which are also available for purchase online. Lines include ARCONA, Astara, In Fiore, Dr. Hauschka, and Malin + Goetz.

Good to Know
• Give yourself enough time to arrive early for a relaxing shower, visit to the sauna, or a bit of lounging on the sundeck. Also leave time afterward to indulge.
• Most street parking is metered and limited to one or two hours. If you want to spend more time at the spa, consider taking public transit or a taxi, or parking a few blocks over at the Japantown garage.
