Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, MN and North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park, MN are hosting art exhibitions from mid-September to mid-October.
Weighing The Air: The Art of Collaboration
Metropolitan State University's Gordon Parks Gallery presents Weighing The Air, an exhibition featuring painted artists' books by Julie Baugnet with poetry by Felip Costaglioli. Baugnet, a painter has been collaborating with Costaglioli for over 4 years. Together they have created a collection of painted poems using the book format.
On September 16th, from 4 to 7pm, there will be an opening reception, including a digital presentation by the artists from 6-6:30pm. The exhibition will run from September 17th through October 8th. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 11am to 7pm, and Friday and Saturday, 11am to 4pm. The Gorden Parks Gallery is located in the Library and Learning Center at Metropolitan State University, 645 East Seventh St. in St. Paul.
North Hennepin Community College Art Faculty Exhibition
An exhibition of art by the Art Faculty at North Hennepin Community College will be on view in the Joseph Gazzuolo Fine Arts Gallery at NHCC from September 13th through October 8th. An open house/ reception will take place at the gallery from 10am to 2pm simultaneous with Student Success Day on September 14th.
This year's exhibition features the elegant figurative work of Michelle Ranta, the newest addition to the NHCC Art Faculty who begins her second year of teaching. The exhibition will also include the artwork of: Will Agar, Daniel Bagaus, Jane Bassuk, Sara Commers, Greg Dickerson, Glenn Grafelman, Lance Kiland, Dan Mason, Jerry Mathiason, and Chris Zerendow.
The NHCC Joseph Gazzuolo Fine Arts Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm, or by appointment by calling 763-424-0779. North Hennepin Community College is located at 7411 85th Avenue N. in Brooklyn Park, MN.
