You've heard of 3-D printers, here is a 3-D pen (Photos)

Time is running out to become part of the most innovative invention since the pen. It is the $75 3-D pen called the 3Doodler currently under development by WobbleWorks.

It is a wand that looks somewhat like a glue gun. The user draws in the air with it and it creates three-dimensional objects. It does this by melting and then rapidly cooling plastic as the user draws. For greater precision, the user can draw on a stencil and then join pieces together. So far, the 3Doodler has been used to create artwork, toys, and replacement parts.

The pen is being funded through Kickstarter. It is already fully funded, but there are a few $75 pledge opportunities left. Backers who pledge now will get a pen in January 2014 if all goes well.
