Sound is the operative word for yoga this weekend in Las Vegas.
Cosmin will be teaching Tershula Kriya at the Ganesha Center during this month’s new-moon meditation. The meditation falls on a day of great import—Maha Shivrati, an annual festival celebrated in reverence of Lord Shiva.
“Tershula” can activate the self-healing process. This meditation balances the three gunas—the three qualities that permeate all creation: rajas, tamas, and sattva,” states Cosmin.
The class will come to a close with live gong.
Maureen Heher will hold a sound-healing concert at Willos Community Center in Summerlin with Tibetan bells and crystal bowls, music to align and balance body, mind and spirit.
Susan Goecke and Lucrezia Nelson will lead breath work, mantras, gongs, crystal singing bowls and Eastern philosophy at Yoga Sanctuary for a healing and enriching experience designed to release stress and soothe the spirit.
Violinist Rebecca Ramsey will be performing in the Buddha Lounge at the Ganesha Center. A longtime resident of Las Vegas, Ramsey has played lead violin for some of the greatest names in show business including Frank Sinatra, Pavarotti, Bocelli, Tony Bennett, Van Morrison, Il Divo and recently with Natalie Merchant at the new Smith Center. She performs in the Celine Dion show at Caesar’s Palace and is a member of the Las Vegas Philharmonic.
Brendan Brown will facilitate an original workshop at Barefoot Sanctuary that combines deep-listening exercises, playful improv, basic stretching, personal inspirational discovery sessions and a guided meditation accompanied by live acoustic guitar.
