If you found a new Xbox 360 under the Christmas tree this week then you may be looking for a good deal on an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription as well. Buy.com launched just such a deal on Thursday, Dec. 27 where you can get 35% off the regular price for a 12-month membership.
Update: The Buy.com deal is dead but the Amazon, Newegg and Target deals below are still good.
Buy.com has the Xbox LIVE 12-month Xbox LIVE Gold Card on sale for $38.99 Thursday only. Free budget shipping is available and tax is not applicable in most states.
If you need Xbox LIVE immediately, Amazon is offering an online code that will be mailed to you for $50.96 at the time of this post. We've watched the price fluctuate regularly over the last two weeks though. Meanwhile, Newegg.com has bested that price at $48.99 for the online code. Target also has it for $48.99 in-store.
An Xbox LIVE Gold Membership is needed to access online play and messaging services for the Xbox 360 along with the many entertainment and social apps including Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube, Last.fm, HBO Go and ESPN. Microsoft recently announced plans to roll out more than 40 new entertainment apps worldwide over the next year.
