In the aftermath of the Iranian election, the Iran government has attempted to filter the content of electronic communication. Some web sites being blocked completely and Internet overall being slowed.
Initial exposure of the recent events have been taking place on services such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. However some could find alternative means of communicating to those outside the country.
Craig Labovitz of Arbor Networks Inc has written a detailed report on what specific traffic is being blocked and/or filtered, noting that "Interestingly, game protocols like xbox and World of Warcraft show little evidence of government manipulation".
With the Xbox 360 offering video chat among the features of being an Xbox Gold subscriber, this could easily be an upcoming popular way for loved ones and news outlets to deliver messages to and from the country.

As you said,Internet connections has been slowed down and we can't even download a tiny piece a file.I Tried getting connected to XBL and PSN yesterday and the result was...ummm Zero!
we cant even connect to XBL, so there will be no video chat and alike.
They say Democracy in IRAN is like no other country, NOW i get what i means!:))
Hopefully the half naked iranian christians who took part in the riot to destabilise iran are all extradited to USA. US plans have been foiled to destabilize iran , as many iranians have realized the true players behind the unrest. Hopefully US goes full bankrupt this year so that we dont have to see conspiracies all around the world
Muzahid, what r u talking about?they(you know who) stole our vote, killing our people, shutting down the entire networking system and now your talking about America?Yeah right,I GOT YOU! :))
No one I really feel for you man. I cant imagine what its like over there I was in London (am home for 16th of June)and saw the protests outside Iranian embassy and spoke to a couple of the students protesting. Dude know that the whole world is hoping that things change for the Iranian people. Until they do I wish good luck to the good people of Iran and hope that things get sorted out for you guys quickly.
It's right. It may be ain't filtered via XBL, but as an xbox360 owner in Iran I haven't access to XBL subscriptions, coz because of the sanctions there are no credit cards and no possible abroad payments available here. Can anyone tell me how I can get access to it?
Got something to say?
