After weeks of rumors, the “Nature Boy” Ric Flair WWE return is now set as he cleared his medical physicals. Ever since Jerry “The King” Lawler suffered a heart attack and almost died during a “WWE Monday Night Raw” broadcast, the WWE now forces all superstars to pass a medical physical to assure they are healthy enough to travel with the company. PWS reported on Monday that Flair passed his medical testing in Pittsburgh.
There were some doubts that Flair would pass the physical at the start. While the concerns last year was Flair’s excessive alcohol abuse, that was not what the WWE is worried about at this time. Instead, there was concern about the blood clot that Flair suffered recently. The WWE does not allow any of its superstars to use blood thinners, which would put Flair’s life in danger if the blood clot was still a problem.
Flair has been making appearances with the WWE in recent months. He has appeared on pre and post shows for major events and made a big “WWE Monday Night Raw” return when he endorsed The Shield in their war against Evolution. Most recently, Flair appeared at “WWE NXT” on the WWE Network to stand in his daughter Charlotte’s corner when she beat Natalya for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship. Bret “The Hit Man” Hart was in Natalya’s corner.
The question now is what the Ric Flair WWE return will see him do. The main thought is that he will work as a manager, but there is no telling who he will manage. The main thought is that Flair will manage The Miz, but there is also the thought that might be a complete waste of Flair with Miz dropped so far in the hierarchy of the WWE. Flair has said that he would love to manage Dolph Ziggler, but the WWE doesn’t seem to want to push Ziggler.
One person few people have mentioned is Seth Rollins. With him breaking away from The Shield and joining Triple H’s side, there is a built in story right there. Triple H could ask his buddy Flair to manage Rollins and that would help Rollins just concentrate on his in-ring work with Flair elevating him even more. This is obviously just speculation, but with the timing, it could be perfect for the Ric Flair WWE return.
