In the WWE Hell in a Cell 2013 results on Sunday night, two major championships were on the line, and both went to new champions. Fans are wondering who the big winners were from the pay-per-view in Miami, Florida, which saw the return of John Cena to the scene, as well as Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels helping to decide the outcome of the WWE Championship. Would Randy Orton or Daniel Bryan prevail inside Hell in a Cell on Sunday?
According to WrestleZone.com on Oct. 27, John Cena was able to defeat Alberto Del Rio in the World Heavyweight Title match to become new champion. Cena made his return from an arm injury, surgery, and the resulting rehab, with many people questioning if it was too soon for his comeback. However, he was instantly put back into the major title picture, and managed to overcome Del Rio's repeated attempts to put him in the Cross Armbreaker submission hold. Cena eventually hit the Attitude Adjustment to pin Del Rio and claim the World Heavyweight Championship. Despite the suggestions of the commentary team earlier on, there was no sign of Damien Sandow whatsoever to cash in for a title shot.
In the other major championship match, Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton fought inside Hell in a Cell to determine the new WWE Champion. Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels served as the special referee for the contest and claimed he would make sure there was finally a new champion after the belt was vacant for a month's time. During the match, Triple H arrived down to the cell at one point to argue with Michaels over a call he made. An accidental bump from Randy Orton caused Michaels to get knocked down, with Triple H ordering the cell door to be opened so he and other staff could check on his friend Michaels. Bryan tried to help revive his mentor HBK, only to have Triple H shove him out of the way. That caused Bryan to get irritated and run at HHH, hitting the double knees to the face. When Michaels finally came to, he delivered Sweet Chin Music to lay out Bryan, allowing Orton to get the easy pinfall victory. Once again, Randy Orton has captured the WWE Championship, with Bryan being "screwed over."
There were no other title changes during the event, as Dean Ambrose was counted out in his match against Big E Langston, and The Rhodes Brothers retained their tag team belts. A.J. Lee also retained her Divas Championship as she managed to put Brie Bella into the Black Widow. Los Matadores were victorious after hitting a doubleteam move on Real Americans, while CM Punk was able to defeat Ryback inside Hell in a Cell before climbing up to the top of the structure with a kendo stick to get more revenge on Paul Heyman. Also during the event, Kane made his surprise return as he rushed to the ring to take out Rowan and Harper of The Wyatt Family, then chokeslammed The Miz who had been in the ring trying to call out Bray Wyatt.
