The launch details have been confirmed for the upcoming multiplatform video game, "WWE 2K15." According to a message report from Gamespot on May 21, the new game will be coming out in 2014 despite a rumor suggesting that it has been delayed until early next year. Instead, the new release has been set for later this year.
"WWE 2K15" will be hitting the North American region first with an official release date of Oct. 28. European wrestling fans have to wait three more days to purchase the localized version of the same game starting on Oct. 31. For comparison purposes, "WWE 2K14" came out in North America on Oct. 29 and Europe on Nov. 1.
The production for this year's installment is expected to be more ambitious when compared to last year's version. While "WWE 2K14" was only released on the PS3 and Xbox 360, "WWE 2K15" is coming to current-generation consoles as well as the PS4 and Xbox One. The next-generation iteration may featured a revamped graphics engine due to the extra horsepower of the new platforms.
Although specific details have not yet been disclosed for the upcoming game, it is rumored to feature a new career mode that will be somewhat similar to the one found in the "NBA 2K" series. Players will start out as trainees under the NXT development program. He or she has to work their way up to the main roster of the wrestling company. A full reveal of the title could be coming soon, especially with E3 2014 taking place next month.
The developer behind "WWE 2K15" remains somewhat of a mystery. Some reports suggested that Visual Concepts is the main studio working of the project while other articles mentioned that the team is merely providing some support for Yuke's.
