Cory Ledesma has revealed some of the influences that were taken from the attitude mode of “WWE ‘13” when developing for the upcoming Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 video game, “WWE 2K14.” In an interview with MMGN on Oct. 15, the creative director mentioned that attitude era campaign was one of the best parts from last year’s edition of the gaming franchise.
Cory Ledesma stated that the development team were able to “identified the big matches” from “WWE ‘13” and build on that particular element with “WWE 2K14.” They also wanted to improve upon the presentation aspects of the video game. As a result of their effort, the “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode was created. You can check out some screens from this year’s edition in the slideshow on the top left-hand side of this article and the comments from the creative director below (courtesy of MMGN):
We identified the big matches and games in last year’s game and just built on that. We felt there was a lot to be desired on the presentation standpoint. While we always thought the presentation was solid, WWE is just a phenomenal production when you go to an event. They do a great job of presentation with storytelling, and one thing we do for inspiration is look to them for guidance.
The “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode is another retro campaign for the series in which players can experience some of the best matches from the long-running annual par-per-view event. A lot of the legendary wrestlers were added to roster to accommodate for the new addition.
Cory Ledesma and the rest of his staff are preparing to launch “WWE 2K14” on Oct. 29 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 current-generation consoles in the North American region. You can pre-order the product from Amazon in the following link: “WWE 2K14”
