Women get a libido surge after taking placebo pill. Fakers.

Has your libido gone MIA? The secret to kickstarting your sex drive may have nothing to do with your kibbles and bits. In a new study, one in three women with lagging sex drives got a major libido boost after taking what they thought was a prescription medication. In reality, all the women were given sugar pills.

The results, published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, imply that participation in the study, not the “prescription drug,” is what caused the libido surge. Because the participants were told to have sex, keep a sexual satisfaction log, and to think about their sexuality on a steady basis, it’s no surprise that their sex drives experienced a little placebo therapy.

Bottom line: The women could have been popping lint wads and they still would have sported their O-face that night. The next time you’d rather bite the head off a live centipede Fear Factor-style than slip off your panties, try thinking yourself into a sexy state. No pill required.
