Booth appeared in court for a bail review hearing on Friday, Feb. 8. She was denied bond, and is currently being held at a detention center.
Booth told police her daughter “was suffering from a 'Muslim Curse' placed on her by her father" and that "she believed Kassidey to be possessed by an evil spirit." Booth said "she murdered Kassidey by laying on top of her and smothering her until Kassidey stopped breathing and showed no signs of life."
Booth wrapped the body of her two-year-old daughter in a blanket and put it in a trash bin by her home. The body was discovered Thursday night in a pile of garbage at a waste management facility where garbage is loaded onto rail cars. The toddler's body was found inside a railcar that was slated for a landfill in Virginia.
If convicted, Booth could potentially face the death penalty.
