Will Danielle Locklear be found?

There have been multiple sightings of 15-year-old Danielle Locklear since she disappeared from her Hope Mills, North Carolina home on March 11, but none of them have led to the discovery of the missing teen. She left her house, telling her grandfather she was walking to a friends' house, but she never arrived. As her disappearance edges on a month, where is the missing teen?

Danielle Locklear has been missing for 3 weeks. Where is the girl, age 15?

No evidence has been turned up to indicate foul play, though it is concerning that some items of Dannie's clothing were found near a local creek. Also, the area near Claude Lee Road, the last place where her cell phone gave signal, was thoroughly searched, to no avail. It's as if she just vanished into thin air, leaving no signs.

What could have happened to the teen? Her family says it would be completely unlike her to just run away, but it is possible that those rebellious teenage hormones may have gotten the best of her. But if that was the case, it's odd that she wouldn't have made any kind of contact with anyone in 3 weeks. It is also possible that something happened to her. Every day, there are new reports of missing children and adults who have been abducted and never seen again. Will Dannie be one of them?

The Hope Mills Police Department has scaled back search efforts for the missing teen, likely because in 3 weeks, they haven't found anything. Even with the best, most experienced police force in the world, if there's nothing to go on, what more can they do? Police Chief Joel Acciardo says they will continue to follow up on all leads and no possibility of what could be has been ruled out.

A balloon release was held on March 29, drawing hundreds of people, to bring attention to the missing teen's case. The family is also established "The Dannie Fund" at Wells Fargo Bank, which will be used for a reward, as well as supplies needed throughout the search. On April 5th, CrossFit Ferus, in Fayetteville, NC, will hold another fundraiser, "Bring Dannie Home Workout Day," to bring more awareness.

Danielle Locklear is bi-racial, stands 5'1", and weighs about 150 pounds. She is striking in appearance, with green eyes and black hair. Though she is just 15 years old, she has the appearance of an older woman, possibly in her 20s. If you have seen Dannie, or have any information about her whereabouts, please call 911, or the Hope Mills Police Department at 910-425-4103. Her family will never stop looking for her.
