Why run and cause knee pain when you can brisk walk?

There are many things you can do to alleviate knee pain long after you've injured yourself from running. The most common remedies to relieve knee pain from running are to elevate the bad knee, use anti-inflammatory painkillers and with doctor recommended with the use of arch support products. Recovery rates vary and many runners will find it difficult to discontinue their jogging routines. In the meantime, in addition to using the common routes to recovery from knee pain injury after running, you can find some relief in knowing that the injury is repairable with care and patience. By understanding the functionality of the largest joint in the human body, a runner can learn to heal the damaged ligaments and subdue the pain he suffers from after running.

Preventive compression wraps help to keep the knee stationary when doing daily activities like lifting, squatting, anything but running. Running while wearing knee braces can induce swelling and reactivate the injury causing further pain in the knee. But, it is great ti us before and after a jog it is necessary to help the injured knee by taking some of the pressure off the daily functioning of the knee.

Avid runners that just can't wait to hit the pavement for their daily 3-miler should alternate between jogging and brisk-walking when their knee pain is most persistent. Brisk-walking has the same effect on the cardiovascular as jogging. The heart rate will increase just as quickly when walking at a greater speed and the it cause less damages on the joints. After all runners, this is concrete we are treading on. The amount of shock that running sends through the entire body with the pounding of the soles against the rock solid tar-granite mixture is not worth the invited exchange for injured knee pain.

But, what do I know I am not a podiatrist or a runner for that matter. It's just one of those things that make you go
"hmm!" Just like women who wear stilettos on the daily, only to have years later the worst back, knee and hip pain you could imagine. Go Figure. I suppose no pain no gain, for those who are dedicated to their belief systems.
