It’s opening day for the highly anticipated “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.” This film is based on the first book in Cassandra Clare’s Internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series. Production for the sequel, “The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes” is set for next month. Constantin Film holds the film rights to all of Clare’s Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices books. The fans know how wonderful these stories are and now is the time to show the world just that.
“The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes” is in pre-production but how quickly the studio moves on a third film and future films in the franchise will be affected by the numbers and success of “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.” Go see the film during opening weekend and then talk about it. I was fortunate enough the see “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” early at the media screening and then again and the L.A. premiere. This is a movie that fans will love. The acting is outstanding and brings Clare’s characters to life on the big screen. Director Harald Zwart gets fantasy in a real and non-cheesy way. The film is not overly done with green screen affects and is character focused keeping the film true to the stories essence rather than showing off CGI.
