If you have never been, not only does the food transport you back to your Italian grandmother’s table but the place visually is a living breathing art exhibit. All the tables are hand painted and they rotate them with artwork reflecting the seasons. Check out the slideshow.
Owners of Café Gia, the Aquia family, immigrated from Cefalu, Sicily to Baltimore’s Little Italy. Four generations have lived right here in Little Italy. It made sense to them to take over a corner building and create an Sicilian bistro where all could come and relish the pleasures of the table. Their passion is to share their Italian heritage on every plate, every day, at Café Gia. In just a short amount of time from opening their doors, Café Gia won the hearts of their patrons and garnished ‘Best Italian Restaurant’ both from Baltimore Magazine and the Baltimore’s City Paper.
