According to the official Facebook page for WDXZ-AM (1000; licensed to Robertsdale, Alabama, southeast of Mobile), the station started broadcasting on a regular basis again on Saturday, August 3rd, after being out of commission since Thursday, August 16th, 2012, due to stormy weather causing damage to its equipment. By then, the station had the call letters WBZR (until Wednesday, February 20th, 2013) and usually broadcast the same programming as its companion WBZR-FM (105.9; licensed to Atmore, Alabama, northeast of Mobile), primarily country music. Now it broadcasts its own programming, primarily gospel music
You may listen to a sample of WDXZ-AM's programming since its return to broadcasting by visiting the WDXZ-AM section of the World Wide Web site the Alabama Broadcast Media Page and selecting the word "Aircheck"* to download or open the file containing the sample.
*The word aircheck refers to a recording of a broadcast of a radio program or a TV program.
(correction notice: the article was corrected due to the word "northeast" being used mistakenly to describe the location of Robertsdale, Alabama in relation to Mobile)
