Oscar Pistorius has pleaded not guilty to the Feb. 14, 2013, (Valentine’s Day) murder of his girlfriend, model and television personality Reeva Steenkamp. Pistorius is known as the “Blade Runner” for his athletic prowess in the Paralympics Games. He competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics. The prosecution alleges that Pistorius shot and killed Reeva Steenkamp in his home located in Pretoria, South Africa. The defense states that Pistorius shot Steenkamp after believing she was an intruder. The trial began on March 3, 2014.
On March 10, 2014, a state pathologist testified in graphic detail regarding Reeva Steenkamp’s injuries. During the testimony, Oscar Pistorius became physically ill and vomited in the courtroom.
