Watch: Big Bird on ‘SNL’ dishes on being famous after Presidential debate

Big Bird was part of the comedy on Saturday night for the Saturday Night Live skit with Seth Meyers. The bird from Sesame Street definitely was careful not to offend anyone when he arrived on stage. It was funny to see the big yellow bird that everyone grew up with on the show after Mitt Romney talked about cutting the bird and his famous show from television by taking away PBS funding.

“It's so weird to think that just a few days ago I could blend in like every other perfectly normal eight-foot talking bird,” said Big Bird on Saturday Night Live. He was dishing on his newly found fame in the Presidential debates. While the bird was kidding, what made it over the top hysterical was that the character sounded just as he would if on Sesame Street.

Of course Big Bird might downplay the importance he plays in the role of America’s children, but many find the idea of cutting funding for the Children’s Television Workshop and PBS no laughing matter. With kids watching so much television, some parents have become dependent on the PBS shows to know there is plenty of appropriate programming.
