Justin Timberlake mocking the late Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez on “Saturday Night Live” last night is trending on the Internet.
Chavez offers a lot of fodder for comedians. He is famously noted for calling President George W. Bush “the devil” during a UN speech. He once said that capitalism killed a civilization that he claims had been living on Mars.
Timberlake sang a mocking SNL tribute to Chavez during the cold opening of the show. Timberlake imitated Elton John singing to the tune of "Candle in the Wind," just as John had done after Princess Diana died.
“You said the U.S. causes earthquakes and you outlawed Coke Zero. And on your shoulder sat your parrot with a matching red beret,” Timberlake sang.

Timberlake quipped that Chavez helped make Venezuela the kidnapping capital of the world. Timberlake added that on positive note, Chavez “increased milk production by almost 50 percent” and hosted his own TV show, “Hello Mr. President.”
Chavez was famous for droning on for hours on his TV show broadcast throughout the country.
Timberlake concluded, “You were hero to your people and you never gave up a fight. We’ll Miss you Hugo Chavez, because Live from New York its’ Saturday Night,” Timberlake concluded.
