Video: The Wanted win first ‘People's Choice Award’ beating One Direction

The Wanted took home an award on Wednesday night at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards. The annual award show finally handed over an award to the British band beating out the competitors in the category for the Favorite Breakout Artist. While the fans were immediately divided, One Direction actually won earlier in the evening with the first award presented on the red carpet.

The guys were super excited about the win and gave a very gracious speech to the audience. Going a step further, they even Ellen DeGeneres with their own rendition of Afternoon Delight which was so unexpected.

While some fans might be upset about the idea of The Wanted winning over One Direction, the show caters to the votes of the public. With 475 million votes cast, it is obvious the fans thought the group was the best fit for the category.
