“VH1 Divas” 2012 was held live on Sunday, December 16 from The Shrine Auditorium. Grammy Award-nominated artist Adam Lambert hosted the show. This year’s show celebrated the dance-inducing music. Ciara, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland, Jordin Sparks, Melanie Fiona, Ledisi, Keri Hilson, Metric, Bootsy Collins, Kelly Clarkson and more paid homage to the greatest divas of dance music history.
In the spirit of celebration and appreciation, VH1 Divas feature a tribute to two divas we lost this past year, whose voices always lead us straidght to the dance floor, Whitney Houston and Donna Summer. Dance tributes were also given to Madonna, Blondie and Michael Jackson.
As in previous years, this edition of benefited the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping music education alive in American public schools. To date, VH1 Save The Music has provided more than $49.5 million in new musical instruments to 1,850 public schools in more than 128 school districts around the country, impacting the lives of over 2.1 million children.
