Gladys Knight had an important part at the NAACP Image Awards on Friday night. While the accomplished performer didn't flinch during her life performance, the audience was treated to a special treat as she gave her performance during the In Memoriam segment. Sharing the moment with celebrities who have died over the past year, the beautiful moment was extremely touching as the artist belted out The Way We Were.
The segment, somewhat a surprise to those folks watch the NAACP Images Awards live was very moving. Including a vocal performance with the live music, the moment was special and offered up a remembrance that was emotionally filled.
The NAACP Image Awards is one of the biggest multicultural awards show. It celebrates the accomplishments of people in the fields of television, music, literature and film, and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors. A tradition held at the Shrine in downtown Los Angeles, the fans got to experience a special moment of celebration.
