Saturday, ex-Navy SEAL Chris Kyle was shot and killed at a Texas gun range, alongside a friend Chad Littlefield; Eddie Ray Routh, 25 was arrested shortly after the shootings in a nearby town. Police said that Routh will face two counts of capital murder, according to CNN.
Chris Kyle, 38, was a former Navy SEAL and author of the best-selling book American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History. The book outlines information of Kyle’s Navy career from 1999 to 2009; Kyle claimed to have killed over 150 people by sniper in Iraq. He also claimed that there was a bounty on his head in Iraq and that he had been nicknamed “the devil” by insurgents.
Kyle’s body was found around 3:30 p.m. next to the body of Chad Littlefield, 35, at Rough Creek Lodge's shooting range, located approximately 50 miles outside of Fort Worth. The suspect left the area in one of the victim’s truck and was reportedly picked up about 30 minutes later by police in Lancaster. Police have not yet charged the man, but said that he is 25-years-old.
